The debates around the horrors of rock climbing have again come up to the surface after the tragic accident in the ridges of Wales. A 23-year-old climber lost his life in a recent accident in Snowdonia. The young boy was ascending the Y Gribin Hills of Eryri national park. This tragic accident has stunned this entire community.
The boy from Yorkshire, suddenly fell to 180 meters while ascending with his two fellow climbers. The accident was reported to happen around 5 pm on Saturday.
A loose piece of rock led to a horrific accident

The rescue team recovered the dead body the next afternoon. In charge of the rescue operation, Chris Lloyd has said that the accident was “tragic and unfortunate”. Lloyd further gave details about the operation and the cause of the accident. He informed that it took a team of 12 rescuers to find the boy’s body around 9 pm at night. The body had no signs of life till then.
Lloyd also clarified that the climbers were following all security measures, and the accident happened due to a loose piece of rock. “The large have not done anything wrong. This Rock just came away in his hand. It’s just so sad,” he informed the Guardian.
He also informed me that the three climbers had a long history of successful climbs in the past as well. Lloyd said, “They were three young men. They have done a lot of Hillwalking together and were well equipped and had all the right kit.” It was the geographical factors of the place that became the reason for his unfortunate fate. The accident has again brought limelight to the dark aspect of this sport. However, the sport has been a great source of inspiration and thrill for people struggling in their life.

Despite all the criticism and dangers of this sport, once a popular rock climber and YouTuber revealed how Rock Climbing helped him to recover from anxiety and depression, without actually climbing a single rock. Oswaldo Zuniga, a popular YouTuber, was depressed and drifting through life when he came across bouldering.

Soon the YouTuber grew fond of the sport and it helped him in getting out of the depression zone. “And I remember right away I was like, I am not sure what this really is, but it’s a really good feeling. And I want to come back,” he said.
