Steep rocks and their sky-scraping pinnacles make the sport of rock climbing a sport of tenacity and moxie. And, to chase the adrenaline rush that the crest of the rock gives, many champions courageously climbed the momentous rocks. Likewise, one such legend who triumphed over many gigantic rock structures is none other than the Norwegian rock-climbing sensation, Magnus Midtbo.
Magnus commenced his journey of achieving great heights at a very young age. And interestingly, last year, he shared various tidbits of his adventurous journey with his fans and the sport climbing fraternity.
From where does it all start for Magnus Midtbo?

The 34-year-old shared every nook and cranny behind his successful rock-climbing career in a Youtube episode of Climbers Craig. As per the video, Midtbo’s interest got piqued by the sport of climbing at a very young age. He said, “the story started when I started climbing”. Magnus further added, “none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for climbing”.

Moreover, expressing his admiration for the sport, Midtbo asserted, “as soon as I started climbing that was the only thing I did”. And his fascination for the sport took him to great heights, and he became one of the best rock climbers to ever ascent in the sporting world of climbing.
From making it to the top of Ali Hulk Sit Start Extension to on-sight ascent at Cosi Fan Tutte, the 34-year-old has many athletic accolades to his name. However, in 2017, the legend decided to retire from the sport. As per the vlog, when Magnus left the sport he “honestly had no idea what to do” with his life.

Magnus may have left the sport, but the adrenaline rush to conquer the colossus resided deep within him. Therefore, owing to his passion for climbing, in 2017, he started his YouTube channel where he started to document his climbing sprees. Interestingly, Midtbo’s YouTube family now comprises 1.58 million subscribers with around 350 rock climbing and fitness videos.

Besides his metier of vlogging and climbing, the Norwegian prodigy also invested his savings in opening his “first climbing gym in Oslo”. Clearly, Magnus has done a commendable job of following his passion for reaching the pinnacles. And, his odyssey of climbing is really an inspiration for many.
