Hunter and Tara's love story at the Paralympics—Is this the most inspiring sports couple ever?

After Tara Davis-Woodhall had her moment under the spotlight in the City of Love, it was now Hunter Woodhall’s turn. Who could forget their romantic moment after she turned her winning moment into their moment for the track and field world to watch? However, fans were hoping to see them switch sides during the ongoing Paralympics in the French capital. The 25-year-old was ready to turn heads at Stade de France during his third berth.

But much to his dismay, he missed the mark at the T64 100m event. But all hope was not lost. He stepped onto the purple tracks on September 6, hoping to snag a gold of his own. The current 400m T62 American record holder surged past his competitors, crossing the finish line in 46.36 seconds. He has done it! The 25-year-old is a Paralympic gold medalist. But all he could think of was Davis-Woodhall cheering him on in the stands, recreating the ‘Where’s the trophy? He just comes running over to me’ moment once again.

Tara watched as Hunter Woodhall settled into the familiar blocks once again. He had previously only managed a third-place finish in the 400m event at the Games. But tonight felt different. While he might not have had the quickest start, he kept pushing through. It wasn’t until the final stretch that the para-athlete started gaining a considerable lead. Right after he won, he revealed a message for his late uncle on his racing bib: “Wyatt Woodhall, this one is for you.”

With his first Paralympic gold medal in Paris, he brings his tally up to 4 medals in total: 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze. Like the 25-year-old at the Paris Olympics, Tara couldn’t help but jump in joy. After their captivating embrace, Tara took to Instagram to celebrate his win. She shared a post by TrackTown USA, captioned, “Champions only. That’s #ParisOlympics & #ParisParalympics GOLD medalists to you 🤝 #TrackTown24″ to her stories. She further wrote, “W‘S ONLY BABY.” Could they be any cuter?

This win comes after missing out on the podium during the T64 100m finals. Hunter Woodhall breezed through Heat 2 by clicking in a blistering 11.02 seconds. However, he couldn’t keep up when D-Day arrived. While he placed sixth with a timing of 10.96 seconds, Sherman Guity clinched an effortless victory with 10.65 seconds on the clock. Maxcel Amo Manu and Felix Streng completed the podium with 10.76 and 10.77 seconds, respectively. But the 25-year-old was unstoppable tonight.
