When his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall clinched her maiden Olympic gold at Stade de France, Hunter Woodhall’s cheers from the stands rang the loudest. But track and field fans were incredibly smitten by the moment they shared next—the Olympian jumping into his arms as she celebrated her win. Even though they got to share that moment, it was now the para-athlete’s turn to step onto the purple tracks in the City of Love. And his partner made sure to be right there to cheer him on.
After contesting in the T64 100m finals on September 1, he has one more chance to seize the coveted Paralympic gold. As the 25-year-old prepares for the epic showdown, Davis-Woodhall took to threads to leave him a sweet little note. She shared a picture of the two smiling at the Paris Olympics and captioned, “One final lap✨ this is your race! do it for you 💜 LFG.” Will they finally get to recreate their embrace after his race tonight? Only time will tell.
With the spotlight now being shifted onto Hunter Woodhall, his Olympian wife is happy to watch him from the sidelines. Days before she made her way to Paris, she had contested in the Rome Diamond League. But as soon as she added another gold to her collection, it was now time to fly back to her partner, who was preparing for the Paris Paralympic Games in the City of Love. “JK NO SLEEP! IT’S TIME TO WATCH HUNTER!!,” she posted on her Instagram story. Clearly, Woodhall couldn’t wait for her to get there either.

Come September 1, Tara was a bundle of nerves as she waited for her husband to step onto the tracks. During the T64 100m heats, his stellar time of 11.02 seconds was more than enough to push him through to the finals. But while he raced, she took to X to let out her raw emotions. The Olympian even compared the nerves to her stomach performing the infamous Biles II. Her heartfelt commentary perfectly captures the ups and downs a supportive beau faces.
At the finals, she nervously watched Hunter Woodhall make a beeline for the finish line. But his impressive time of 10.96 seconds wasn’t good enough for the podium, and he had to settle for a sixth-place finish. However, the para-athlete found a silver lining through it all. “Progress. I’m proud of the way I competed. I told myself I wanted to use the 100m as an opportunity to improve.” He compares it to his performance in Tokyo, where he was placed dead last, so while it wasn’t the result he wanted, Woodhall left the tracks feeling proud.
