Two years ago in May 2022, on the Shawn & Andrew podcast on YouTube, Tara and Hunter Woodhall shared the heartfelt story of their relationship and the obstacles they faced. Hunter spoke about supporting Tara from afar during her low moments. “I’m not even there,” he said, “like I’m a thousand miles away.” He added, “So, in the same note, it’s like I can tell you that it’s gonna be okay as much as I want. But it’s like you’re the one experiencing it. You’re the one in there.” His words revealed the depth of his emotional support despite the physical distance.

In 2022, Tara faced a tough setback at the U.S. outdoor championships. She fouled on all three attempts, missing out on the World Championships. Hunter, who understood the emotional toll of such failures, chose to be her rock. Reflecting on those times, he said, “I would say, for the most part, it was like learning to not come up with solutions.” He continued, “Not come up with options of what can make it better, and really just trying to be there to listen and understand.” His approach showed how deeply he cared, even when there were no easy answers.

During this period, Tara needed someone to lean on, and Hunter was that person. Despite their own imperfections and the strain of financial problems, he made significant sacrifices. “So a lot of times, I would drive from Fayetteville to Georgia on Friday,” he recalled, “stay Saturday, and then drive home Sunday, which is like a 13-hour drive.” His dedication highlighted his commitment to their relationship, even when it meant enduring long, tiring drives.

Their journey was not without its challenges. Financial strains and demanding schedules tested their bond, but through every struggle, they stood by each other and grew stronger. Hunter’s sacrifices and Tara’s resilience turned their relationship into a testament to unwavering love. Despite the hurdles, their commitment to one another never faltered, proving that true love can overcome even the toughest obstacles.

Tara and Hunter Woodhall’s love story began across state lines in Pocatello, Idaho, on February 1, 2017. Although Tara grew up in Texas and Hunter was born and raised in Utah, their paths crossed when they were both high school athletes. Tara made the first move, stepping onto the track and saying, “I don’t know why I have to do this, but I have to give you a hug.” This unexpected gesture sparked their initial conversation.

Hunter fondly remembered his reaction to their first meeting: “I’m gonna marry that girl.” From that moment, their connection grew. They started dating in 2017 and married in 2022. Throughout their college years, they navigated the challenges of a long-distance relationship with constant communication and effort. They learned to listen to each other, even during arguments. “We try not to tell each other how we should feel,” Tara explained.
