The Sunday evening match came with shocking news for the NHL community. The fans of the Vancouver Canucks were stunned after the administration announced that they have fired the head coach Bruce Boudreau. Bruce was the head coach of the Canucks for the past year and was struggling to continue the winning streak for the team. 

Boudreau’s tenure ended with just 18 wins out of 46 matches in which he headed the team. The current stats stand pretty much against the star coach. While there was a range of emotions flowing through Boudreau as well as the fans, here are the highlights of the farewell event.

Boudreau was among the most successful coaches in the history of the game. The 68-year-old has a maximum number of wins to his name. His popularity was clearly visible in the last match when the hockey arena was filled with the chants of Bruce Boudreau. “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Bruce and Trent for their contribution to this organization,” said the Canucks General Manager in a press conference

This news generated waves of agony and misery as Boudreau was a fan-favorite coach. Fans have expressed their anger and sadness on various social media platforms. Vancouver Canucks posted a photo thanking Bruce for his immense contribution.

As expected, fans have flooded the comment box with their disappointments and anger at the controversial decision. 

NHL Fan Bombarded The Comment Section

A fan who watched last night’s match put her feelings beautifully in words. “Watching the game on TV last night and hearing the crowd chanting #BruceThereitis and watching the emotion on his face ….will never forget that! He is a class act …hoping so much that he lands well!”, she wrote.

An angry fan expressed his disappointment at the bad decision from the administration. He further blamed the administration for the team’s poor performance. The fan wrote, “What a joke, and so utterly embarrassing. The cancer of the team is terrible management. Not a single Vancouver Canucks fan is happy about this.”

One fan claimed it to be a glaring mistake committed by the Canucks administration and hoped that Boudreau would find a better team. “You deserved so much better,” he wrote.  Another fan was still motivated that Bruce’s contribution to the game won’t go in vain. He was confident that the legendary coach would find a better team with better opportunities. “Chin up Bruce- you are a legend and such a blessing to this team and city.”

There was a long list of fans who couldn’t thank him enough for the dedication and intensity he developed into the players. “Thank you Bruce for your candor, humor and being so personable to the fans,” a fan wrote.
