The highly anticipated game between the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals had a jam-packed stadium in February. Fans were buzzing about the NHL game and would have done anything to watch it. The game would also elevate the chances of either of the teams winning the Stanley Cup. Moreover, it brought out the wildest side of the fans, who revealed the craziest things they would do if the Hurricanes won the prestigious cup. 

Two days ago, the YouTube channel Spittin’ Chiclets posted a video of them performing a vox pop session at a massive tailgate at the Carter-Finley stadium. The loyal tailgate crashers had various opinions about the win probability of the Carolina Hurricanes. 

Fans agreed to give up alcohol if the Hurricanes won

The Stadium Series match between the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals was a much-awaited one. Although fans know the results now but just before the game, the Hurricanes fans had gone berserk. The fun vox-pop session by Spittin’ Chiclets asked the beer-drenched fans at a tailgate party – what would they do if the Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup? 

One of the fans answered, “ I would run b*tt naked and run through Carter Finley Stadium” Well that was the level of excitement fans contained throughout the match. Nevertheless, many of the fans were questioned if they would give up on beer for a year. A fan was quick to answer, saying a strong yes, whereas another fan told they would give whiskey a try.

Ultimately, it was a glorious win for the Hurricanes with a final score of 4-1 against the Washington Capitals. Although Hurricane fans were celebrating the great win, the Capitals fans missed the presence of their star player Alexander Ovechkin.

Washington Capitals fans did not count the match against Carolina Hurricanes

A few days before the Hurricanes vs the Capitals match, captain Alex Ovechkin had to fly to his family in Moscow, Russia. Sadly, his father passed away. Nevertheless, he received great support from his team for his decision. However, Capitals fans really missed the presence of their captain. As ESPN posted an update on Facebook after the match, the dejected Capitals fans took to the comments section to express their disappointment.

Fans refused to count the results because Ovechkin was not in the game.

“That’s only because the difference maker wasn’t there #8”

Doesn’t count, didn’t have Ovi”
