On February 28, the hockey world was rocked by the announcement that Patrick Kane, a three-time Stanley Cup winner, had been traded from the Chicago Blackhawks to the New York Rangers. The star player has been with the team for 15 seasons, and it was evident that the trade is going to be an emotional decision both for the management and the player. Just a day before the deadline for the trade, Kyle Davidson had an emotional conversation with the champion player. 

The Youtube channel of Chicago Bulls has recently uploaded a video describing the whole process of player trades. It also reveals how the entire process brought a storm of emotions to the ones involved. 

An emotional phone call between Patrick Kane and his Ex GM

The Chicago Blackhawks released the latest episode of the “Every Shift” YouTube series. The episode titled ‘Coming to terms’, describes what many called the end of a golden era of Hawks. However, what grabbed the maximum attention was the phone conversation between Kane and his Ex GM Kyle Davidson. Davidson makes a phone call to the three-time Stanley Cup winner to update him about the developments. However, the call sounded more like a farewell message from the General Manager. 

In the video Davidson, informed that the organization is at the end process of trading Kane to the New York rangers. He further thanked the champion star player for all the memories he gave to the fans and team. “Just wanted to thank you for everything you have done so much for the organization and fans”

The General Manager also wished him luck for his upcoming ventures and told him about his importance to the Hawks. “And just remember that whatever jersey you are wearing you will always be a part of Black Hawks thanks again for everything man.”, Davidson said on the call. However, the trade resulted in a small reunion of the two former Hawks in Madison Square Garden. 

Fans found a silver lining among trade

During his time in Chicago, Kane established himself as one of the league’s most talented and dynamic players, winning numerous individual awards and helping lead the team to three Stanley Cup championships.  However, the champion was seen competing against his former teammate and buddy Alex DeBrincat as NY Rangers took on Ottawa Senators.

The clips of the reunion grabbed the eyes of the fans and they bombarded the comment section of the post. After spending 1000 matches for the Hawks, Kane is looking forward to a new journey. Fans are hoping for the same magic in new jersey from the iconic player.
