After the successful inclusion of teams like the Vegas Golden Knights and Seattle Kraken, NHL is looking to introduce another team in the league. Moreover, according to the sources, the new team may be the reincarnation of Atlanta Thrashers. Previously, when Atlanta was a part of the NHL, it had faced a couple of setbacks since its introduction into the NHL in 1999. Further, in 2003 the ownership was changed, and then in 2011 due to long-plaguing financial problems, the team yet again reached a dead end.
Currently, the sources are directing towards the comeback of Atlanta in the NHL, as potential buyers line up for it. ESPN broadcaster John Buccigross tweeted about the possibility of the return of Atlanta to the NHL, asking his followers to stay tuned.

Moreover, another closely NHL-following Twitter account, NHL Rumours Daily, soon updated the fans with the same news. Further revealing the reason behind the idea.
It’s not imminent and it’s not a guarantee. Just that the league is very interested in that idea and there’s a solid group willing to make it happen https://t.co/HFRZmVBFAs

NHL fans shared contrasting opinions on bringing back Atlanta Thrashers
Due to the unsuccessful past of Atlanta in the league, there are multiple views on the subject of introducing back the team. On one hand, where a few fans were excited to see Atlanta back in the league. Whereas other fans objected to this decision to bring back a team that has failed twice in the past. Here are some reactions from fans:
“Yes we deserve it we our drew Nashville several years in a row! This former STH spent several years working towards keeping the team here – shame on Gary Betman and the management group! Let’s Go Thrashers.”
“Bring the Trashers back! I liked this team back in the time when I was a kid, even if wasnt old enough to understand all🤣”
Contrastingly, the disappointed fans expressed their views by giving specific reasons in the comments section. They wrote,
“What happened to Houston and KC ? Atlanta is a terrible idea. Should do Cleveland or Omaha before they do Atlanta. Omaha already has a college rink the team can use.”
“Why do we keep forcing this in Atlanta. It never works there, give it a break already. Quebec is the place that deserves a team not Atlanta”
“Don’t do it. Hockey has failed in Atlanta THREE TIMES. Atlanta Is Not A Hockey Town. I know, I lived in ATL for 22 years, and went to a couple of Thrashers games. Best sleep I ever had.”
