Every time the viewers get settled with changes in NHL teams, it comes up with a new one. This past week has witnessed some important names getting shuffled from one team to another and it doesn’t seem to be stopping. The recent trade between the Columbus Blue Jackets and LA Kings that grabbed the attention of the viewer has got a fresh angle to the story. The Columbus Blue Jackets have made a fresh trade with the Vegas Golden Knights and have exchanged their goalie Jonathan Quick with Michael Hutchinson and a seventh-round pick in the NHL draft for 2025. 

The decision came as a surprise since Quick was transferred within three days of getting traded from the LA Kings. Fans are in utter shock after the news surfaced. However, the social media page of the Columbus Blue Jackets took things further after they prepared a cheeky post for Jonathan Quick. 

A satirical thanks from the NHL team

The Facebook post of the Bluejackets is grabbing the attention of the fans as it lays down a satirical message while thanking the goalie. “Our time with you was quick but memorable,” said the caption. Quick has been part of three NHL teams within three days. However, fans didn’t seem to be taking it on a lighter note.

After the Tuesday trade news, fans were excited to see the goalie in Columbus jackets. However, their expectations soon turned into disappointments when new trade was announced. This disappointment was clearly seen in the comment box of the Facebook post as one fan wrote, “Didn’t even get to see what he wore to his first game! Disappointing”.

Many fans couldn’t believe the sudden turn of events. A fan interestingly explained the chronology when he wrote, “I feel bad for the guy he was a king, now he is just a knight.”  The two-time Stanley Cup winner had given many memorable moments to the LA Kings family. The man has been the MVP in 2012. However, a decade-long memory came to an end on Tuesday. A fan perfectly highlighted the irony as he wrote, “16 years in Los Angeles, 16 minutes in Columbus”.

However, people highlighted the fact that now the probability of lifting the Stanley Cup has increased for the Goalie, considering the recent form of the Columbus Blue Jackets. “At least the man will have a chance to win another cup”, a fan commented.
