Amidst Hype of Nearing Wayne Gretzky’s Record, Alexander Ovechkin Once Warned “Don’t Look Too Far”

Alexander Ovechkin recently left everyone astounded by pocketing the third position in the goalscorer’s list after Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe. When no one to date ever lingered near Gretzky’s record, Ovechkin dared to set his vision on the golden number.

Recently, Ovechkin partnered with the Washington Capitals with a fresh contract, which is going to last for 5 years. As per the recent report of The Denver Post, the Washington Capital’s left winger was excited to start his 5-year journey with the Capitals. After signing the treaty, Alexander Ovechkin said, “I’m going to try (my) best. That’s why I want to play five more years. To have a chance to catch the ‘Great One,’ why not?”

While everyone is excited to see Ovechkin chase Wayne Gretzky’s record, the Great Eight requested his fans to not look too far, “Let’s don’t look too far”, added Ovi. Ovechkin is rather distinctive yet realistic in setting his records, as he said, “Game by game, step by step”.
