Who would win in a race: Noah Lyles or Tyreek Hill? Let's settle this debate!

You can’t expect everything to go so smoothly after Tyreek Hill’s “I would beat Noah Lyles (in a race)!” claim. The wide receiver from the Miami Dolphins is speedy on the field, but could he really outrun the world’s fastest man? That’s the debate of the moment. Meanwhile, Lyles, the reigning 100-meter Olympic champion, isn’t losing any sleep over it—he can’t even remember Tyreek’s name!

In a post on X by Jomboy Media, Noah Lyles said, “What’s that guy’s… What’s the cheetah guy from football… Well, I can’t remember his name…”He even called out to his buddy Mark for help remembering the name of, you know, Tyreek Hill, the NFL speedster. Was this a lukewarm diss in response to Tyreek’s challenge, or just some top-tier sarcasm?

One fan on X quipped, “rage baiting IRL is next-level attention-seeking,” clearly throwing shade at the track star. But how did these two worlds even collide? Why did the Dolphins’ star decide to throw down a challenge to the 26-year-old world champ in the first place?

The feud started a few days ago when Noah Lyles claimed Super Bowl winners are not “World Champs…”. That irked Tyreek, as the situation turned out. In a conversation with host Kay Adams, the famously known Cheetah responded, “Noah Lyles can’t say nothing after what just happened to him.” He further added, “You know what I’m saying? Didn’t he want to come out and pretend like he’s sick? I feel that’s like horseradish.”

This was all about Noah’s bronze victory in the men’s 200-meter event at the Paris Olympics. Despite being the favorite to win, the sprinter fell short of crossing the finishing line before Letsile Tebogo and Kenny Bednarek. However, later, he disclosed that he had had COVID-19, and that might have slowed him down. But six-time All-Pro and SB Champion Tyreek Hill did not count those matters.

Rather, he continued, “So for him to do that and say that we’re not world champions of our sport… Come on, bro. Like speak on what you know about, you know what I’m saying? And that’s track.” Notably, Tyreek Hill holds some phenomenal records on the track, but at the high school level.

Noah Lyles’ ‘World Champion’ jibe is not new, as in the past, he inflicted it on the NBA winners. He ridiculed them by saying, “You know what hurts me the most is that I have to watch the NBA Finals and they have ‘world champion’ on their head. World champion of what? The United States?” That comment put Noah Lyles in hot water, with several NBA stars firing back at him. One NFL fan weighed in, saying, “Nobody knew who he was before mentioning the NBA.”

Another hit back at Noah’s dig, commenting, “Idk how an athlete can disrespect other athletes like himself. Bro runs fast but can’t shoot a basketball, take/make a tackle, hit a baseball, etc.” And just like that, the challenge was on. Plenty of fans are betting on Tyreek Hill’s lightning speed—after all, he was tearing up the track before he ever stepped onto the NFL field.

REUTERS/Dylan MartinezOne follower demanded, “Noah should put on some pads and race him in the 40. That would be a good challenge. Best of three wins.” That could decide the actual champion between Noah and Tyreek, as the fans argued. Still, a chunk of them could not believe that the six-time world champion would act to forget Cheetah’s name in his words, as the 30-year-old is a force to be reckoned with, and he’s been there for quite a while.

Pointing that out, one fan commented, “Bro pretending like he didn’t know his name is hilarious.” Meanwhile, another chimed in with, “Not being able to remember someone’s name isn’t necessarily the same as not knowing who they are,” suggesting this back-and-forth is far from over. So, what do you think—was Noah Lyles’ nonchalant diss the final word, or is this just the beginning of the saga? Share your thoughts below!
