Before Travis Kelce started dating Taylor Swift, he was with Kayla Nicole. From the start of their burgeoning romance, Portnoy did not approve of the relationship, calling them a “bizarre couple”. Now, as Taylor Swift turned up for the Chiefs versus Broncos games with Kelce’s mom and was seen getting friendly with Brittany Mahomes, as a dedicated Swiftie, Dave Portnoy could not brook his thoughts anymore.

Brittany Mahomes has never been a fan of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship. Although Portnoy does not like it too, he disliked the way Brittany Mahomes was getting close to her. The Barstool Sports President addressed the matter on an X post, writing, “Biggest bff upgrade in history.   From Jackson Maholmes to Taylor Swift”. His anger stems from the Mahomes family’s support for Travis Kelce’s ex Kayla Nicole.

Kayla Nicole issued an open letter to the press writing about her problems while dating the NFL superstar. She wrote, “They’ll say you deserve the backlash and embarrassment. Because of your blackness, you should have known better…They’ll even try to tie your value to your net worth. But Black girl, please remember your value lies elsewhere”.

Many members of the Mahomes family supported Nicole’s stance, and Brittany Mahomes was no exception. Her brother-in-law influencer Jackson Mahomes showed his support for Kelce’s ex with three black love-hearts in the comment section. Brittany Mahomes’ husband, Patrick Mahomes, who plays for the Chiefs alongside Travis Kelce, has kept his distance from the boiling topic to stay on friendly terms with his teammate.

Now, Brittany Mahomes has also shown a change of heart, but Dave Portnoy wants to see Jackson Mahomes come around and show his support for the “Red” singer. Notwithstanding this controversy, the Chiefs versus Broncos match was an exciting game to watch.
