Ilona Maher backs the Rams, but is her choice a risky bet against the Vikings?

Ilona Maher has gotten into fan mode! Ahead of the Minnesota Vikings’ play against the Los Angeles Rams at the SoFi stadium, the Olympian has put on a jersey to support her favorite side. However, her pick for the Thursday Night Football winner is poles apart from her ‘Dancing With The Stars’ partner, Alan Bersten. Here’s how they have gone opposite ways for the evening.

Per the latest X post added by the LA Rams, Ilona Maher and Bersten were seen at the stadium in Inglewood, California for the TNF match. While the rugby player donned a blue and yellow jersey, choosing the Rams as her pick for the night, Bersten decided to go the Vikings way. Well, it looks like the fever from one of the most heated rivalries in the game history has gotten to Maher and Bersten too!

There have been 47 games between the two teams so far. Although the rivalry peaked during the 1970s postseason games, when the two were at the top of the NFL. But while the Vikings may have a bit of an upper hand with a 27-18-2 advantage over their opponents, we must know that the recent trend may have indicated otherwise. Ever since the Rams moved to St Louis, things haven’t been as intense. Interestingly, the Vikings have been on the winning side just once in 3 meetings since 2016!

But for this particular match, things could go either way. Although the Rams beat the Raiders 20-15 previously, ending their 2-game losing streak, they are currently 4th on the NFC West list. Moreover, the Vikings are expected to bounce back strongly after their first loss of the season last week. However, regardless of the win or loss, it’s sure that the game would be a definite stressbuster for Maher and Alan Bersten after rigorous preparations for the recent DWTS Disney Night.

In fact, their playful tricks have already begun. Whilst at the sidelines, Ilona Maher thrashed Alan flat-backed on the floor in jiffy, amid a mock rugby tackle. ‘Been wanting to do this all season,’ she was seen giggling as the two stood back up after the fall.

While the Rams called that a ‘textbook technique,’ Maher’s caption hinted that she might train Bersten to make a comeback: “Now I got to teach Alan something.” But this was hardly the only time Ilona Maher put her strength on display. Here’s how her Disney Night performance was.

Ilona Maher’s DWTS performance to remember

Week six has turned out to be a great one for Ilona Maher and Alan. The two recently took the DWTS stage over with their Disney-inspired performance on “Surface Pressure,” earning their first 9 of the season so far! But the jazz dance on the Encanto song was much more than just a performance for her. For her, embodying the character of Luisa Madrigal was intertwined with a personal story.

Sending a body positivity message, Maher admitted that she resonates with Luisa’s character deeply because she grew up as a “bigger female.” Maher remarked, “She [Luisa] is big and she’s broad and she’s so strong, but she feels so beautiful. She doesn’t ever try to shrink herself or make herself small for the world. And I love that people are seeing that in me as well now.”

Leaving her with a decent 25/30, this performance was enough for them to maintain a middle position on the board. Following this up with her team routine, she was able to pull off a strong 52/60. What did you think of her performance? Let us know below.
