Before hopping to the Golden Gate Warriors in 2013, Jermaine O’Neal lived his life full in the NBA rings. The center/forward of the Indiana Pacers saw his best days in 2000-2008 for the club. Among those years, 2002 is special to Jermaine O’Neal because of his prized tag of being the most improved player for the Pacers. However, that year earned an uncommon place in his evocation for another reason.

In those years, Jermaine introduced his favorite game to his recently born girl child. Later that baby girl became a regular sight in her father’s matches, cheering. Jermaine’s Golden Gate Warriors appear also attested to that. Now, at the onset of a special moment, the Golden State Warriors’ center man claimed his pride in his daughter’s achievement.

In an interview with The Players’ Tribune, Jermaine O’Neal cleared his throat, claiming, “It’s no greater feeling than watching your kids succeed”. That was actually for his daughter, Asjia O’Neal, who recently clinched the NCAA Women’s Volleyball title and the top spot in the individual volleyball ranking. That made a double effect for The Players’ Tribune as the media justified the moods of the father-daughter in its caption. The swashbuckling caption read, “What a moment for @asjiaoneal! Watch @jermaineoneal share how proud he is and the example she sets for their family. “

Jermaine girded Asjia’s achievement differently in the interview where he termed her as an inspiration to his son, Jermaine Jr. The Golden State Warriors member claimed, “My son didn’t see what I was. So My son saw her as a number one player in the country.” That worked as a motivation for Asija O’Neal as she went on winning titles despite her roadblocks.

Jermaine O’Neal’s role in his daughter’s life

Being the father of Asija O’Neal never went over the roof for Jermaine O’Neal. Rather, the proud father gathered all his might to bring back his lass into life when her congenital heart disease came to light. Jermaine took Asija to his team, Golden Gate Warriors’ physicians for further check-ups in 2013. Since then, Jermaine supported Asija thoroughly on her volleyball stint, by motivating or looking after her.

So the emotion took a higher up when the proud father boasted, “Asjia is a spitting image of me, but she is better — a much better version of me,” talking to ESPN. com. Even after gaining high in the Golden Gate Warriors’ color, Jermaine O’Neal decided not to bail on his family duty after the 2014-15 season. He turned down several big offers but remained reachable on his offspring’s occasions. That reflected on the December 17 night when the father-daughter joined in an emotional run on the latter’s glory.
