For the first time in the history of Modern Pentathlon, a woman with a remarkable score of 5310 points made it into the spotlight. She secured second rank in the Olympics 2000 Modern Pentathlon event. Eventually, Emily deRiel achieved a milestone in Modern Pentathlon and set a target for US Pentathletes for the first time. However, after that, the USA’s modern pentathlon took an unexpected turn, and the drought for the Olympics started. Since 2000, modern pentathletes have yet to make it to the finals of the Olympics.

But, this year is quite fortunate for Team USA ahead of a nod from LA28 on the horizon. The expectations for the USA are already set as the first American qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics in modern pentathlon.

Davis performed exceptionally well and secured a remarkable score of 1370 points from a series of events. Extending from horse riding, fencing, combined running, shooting, and riding to a swimming event, spectators watched Davis in awe. Eventually, she made it to the Paris Olympics by defeating Phaelen French by 27 points.

Due to the recent approval of Modern Pentathlon in LA28, Modern Pentathlete, for the last time, will use horses in the game. From 2028, the Modern pentathlon will witness another transitional phase, replacing equestrians with obstacles. Fortunately, this is the last time for Davis to shine in the Olympics in the Modern Pentathlon with a horse. Therefore, the USA’s participation in the upcoming Paris Olympics is paramount.
