“Kid Is an Absolute Stud”: Minnesota Wild’s Bold Move Leaves NHL World Animated About Future Prospects

With the 2022-23 NHL season underway, teams from all four divisions are fighting for their spot in the playoffs. In the league table, out of the 32 teams, the Minnesota Wild are in 13th place. With the trading deadline getting closer, teams are making some big decisions while some players are renewing contracts. The Minnesota Wild is among those teams who have extended the contract of one of their most promising ice hockey players, Matthew Bold.

Earlier, all official social media handles of the National Hockey League posted about the “Bold Move” by the Minnesota Wild. As news of the contract extension broke, fans praised the team they support for not trading away the talented 21-year-old forward.

The Minnesota Wild extended Matthew Bold’s existing contract and signed him on for seven more years. The forward had signed a three-year contract with the team in March 2021. However, after two games with the team, Bold has been awarded a contract extension.

The 21-year-old has already made an impact. Bold scored the match-winning goal in his debut. In his second NHL game, Matthew Bold scored his first hat trick in the 7-4 victory against the Detroit Red Wings.

Fans rallied behind Minnesota Wild for extending Bold’s contract. “Worth every penny, kids a stud,” one fan wrote. “Kids worth it,” wrote another fan. “Good move! He is only going to get stronger and better!” predicted one fan. “As a Wild fan, I love the signing. Kid is an absolute stud. However, I am skeptical if this will hurt us or not despite having dead cap space,” wrote another fan. Several other fans also chimed in.

Fans predict a bright future for the NFL prospect

Another fan echoed an optimistic sentiment. “I like him. Saw their opener this year and he looked good. Wild are actually fun to watch right now,” commented the user. Another fan also predicted a bright future for the young forward. “Watching him in person at Xcel Energy Center he’s an amazing playmaker and knows how to shoot the buck at the same time. Kaprizov and Boldy are Minnesotas future,” wrote the fan.

“Future 40 goal scorer,” commented a fan. However, some fans also showed some skepticism. “Hell of a player, but haven’t we already learnt this lesson?” wrote one fan. Some, on the other hand, didn’t seem interested. “I’m interested to see what Pastrnak signs for,” wrote one fan, while another simply wrote, “Who?”.
