After getting on the LSU roster, she has seen a tremendous rise in social media owing to her gymnastics prowess and gorgeous looks. As she gears up for the 2024 NCAA Championship, Livvy has sidelined the Paris Olympics 2024 by doing so.
During her initial years, Olivia was an elite gymnast harboring an Olympic dream. She participated in several competitive gymnastics events until LSU appeared in her life. So, where did the Olympic dream go?
Why isn’t Olivia Dunne participating in the 2024 Olympics?

In an interview with the YouTube channel BFFs which includes the star trio of Dave Portnoy, Josh Richards, and Bri Chickenfry, Olivia Dunne revealed what happened to her Olympic dream. Before that, Livvy explained her journey to LSU while mentioning how she was an elite gymnast at the age of 10 with an Olympic dream. When asked where that dream went, “That dream has died” was the answer from the 21-year-old. But how can such a dream die?
Yes, dreams do die, even if it’s the Olympic one. Dunne revealed that she got hurt when she was around 15-16 years and her ankle bone had suffered a fracture. “I kind of realized I was like maybe this is not for me anymore”, she added. With an offer from LSU already on the table, the decision became even more easy for her. Amidst this, Olivia also heavily lambasted the elite gymnastics program.

Livvy criticizes elite gymnastics program
America has some of the world’s most successful gymnasts. Be it Simone Biles or Jordan Chiles, all have gone through the highly popular elite gymnastics program. So has Olivia Dunne but she has heavily criticized it in the past. During the same podcast, the American sensation called the program to be “pretty dysfunctional’.

Being the man he is, Dave Portnoy quickly agreed with Livvy. “That’s an understatement”, he added while Livvy repeated the same words later. While she didn’t state the clear reasons behind it, it could probably be because of the intense training and high risks of injuries. If not the Olympics, Dunne is surely the star in NCAA gymnastics Championships, and most importantly, happy.
