Is Simone Biles' tour missing out by not including Stephen Nedoroscik? What are your thoughts?

Is Stephen Nedoroscik trying to tell the world, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’? After securing two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics and receiving a call from actor David Corenswet, he is on his way to making his debut in Dancing With the Stars, Season 33. And all these have been happening in just one month. So, has he deliberately kept the aforementioned song for his opening performance in DWTS? No one has confirmed. But the 25-year-old gymnast had another option to extend his dreamy summer. He had a call from Simone Biles‘s show.

As DWTS will be premiering today, Biles’s Gold Over America Tour is also on the list, as it began on September 16. And the common link between these two glamorous shows is Stephen Nedoroscik. But he has gone with the first option, leaving the pop-themed gymnastic show unattended. But what could be the exact reason for it? Notably, Stephen’s colleagues have chosen GOAT, though.

On August 22, the Instagram handle of DWTS posted, “From Paris to #DWTS!🥉 We’re thrilled to welcome pommel horse legend @stephen_nedoroscik as the first star of the season.” Since then, the interest brewed as the gymnastics community could not expect him to land in a reality dance show, missing the opportunity to perform with his teammates. In the new wrapper, GOAT has almost every face of US Gymnastics. But Stephen Nedoroscik didn’t grab the opportunity. In a YouTube podcast, the Penn State gymnast said, “The thing about gymnastics is we are grinding our bodies for years and years, and it’s very rare that we get any rest time really.” For a gymnast who had gone through severe tests at the Paris Olympics and passed with high marks, that could be a justified reason for missing the repeating of grinding. But he also mentioned why he had accepted DWTS’ offer.

In Paris, the Massachusetts native earned a special tag—the Pommel Horse Legend. It is an acknowledgment of his extraordinary prowess in the routine and his achievement in the Paris Olympics. But he wants to look beyond now. In the same interaction, he laid out, “One of my biggest insecurities is dancing personally, right? but I’m always the type of guy that pushes boundaries. like even just competing at the Olympics…it’s a very uncomfortable environment and I’ve gotten comfortable being uncomfortable so definitely not out of the question.” Thankfully, he has found some enviable company on his chosen path.

Nedoroscik has high hopes for his new path

On Sunday, Stephen Nedoroscik appeared on the red carpet for the 2024 Emmy Awards. With his girlfriend, Tess McCracken, the dapper gymnast stood in front of the cameras, removing his glasses. The iconic pose could remind fans of Kent Clark from the Superman series (he has already received praise from David Corenswet). The glasses make a part of his daily life because he suffers from low eyesight. Even in Paris, he had to acclimatize his eyes, as doing routines on the pommel horse would have thrown the glasses off his eyes. “I don’t even really see when I’m doing my gymnastics. It’s all in the hands. I can feel everything,” he said. So what would be the situation in the ballroom? Would he remove his glasses?

In such a situation, his dance partner, Rylee Arnold, might manage the act for him. The 19-year-old co-dancer has been found sweating it out, teaching Nedoroscik one or two things about dancing in practice sessions. The change is notable, as when Fred Richard, Brody Malone, Shane Wiskus, Yul Moldauer, and Melanie De Jesus Dos Santos showed up in the backroom of DWTS to surprise their colleague, Nedoroscik taught them a few dance moves.

Also, the help ran either way when Nedoroscik taught Arnold the pommel horse routines. Now, Team Arnold Pommel is ready to roll on the show, the Olympian put a hint on his upcoming avatar on DWTS. While questioned about his glasses’ probable fate in the show, Nedoroscik conceded, “You never know which one of these kicks is gonna [make them go] pew.” The rest is on the shoulders of tonight.
