As mentioned before, the 25-year-old has a knack for the pommel horse apparatus. So, to keep his strong suit intact, Team USA didn’t play any risky cards with him. Nedoroscik was kept just for his pommel horse routine and showed all his prowess on the apparatus on July 27 during the team qualifications for Subdivision 1. He outdid everyone on the card for pommel horse by scoring a brilliant score of 15.200. This was even higher than Max Whitlock from Team GB, who scored 15.166 despite being the reigning champion of the pommel horse. However, Stephen Nedoroscik still has to look out for competition.

Despite the skills that he has for the apparatus, there is still competition out there eyeing the gold medal for their own country. Team Ireland’s Rhys McClenaghan has also qualified for the finals of pommel horse, set to take place on the 3rd of August this coming Saturday. He shared the brilliant 15.200 score with Nedoroscik, silently giving him a message that he was not undefeated at this year’s Olympic games. The two men who have qualified for the all-around finals from Team USA are Frederick Richard and Paul Juda.

If you look closely, the Slovakian gymnast from Worcester has this one event to make his country proud at this year’s Olympic Games.
