The 2024 LSU gymnastics program has seen a brighter name asserting dominance on the mats of the NCAA for the season: Haleigh Bryant. Right from the first meet of the season, the 22-year-old has attained gradual heights to attain the no.1 ranking in the national standing as of March 1st. Now as the post-season announces its nearing dates, the gymnast has only ever grown stronger.

“I never get tired of watching her. It’s remarkable,” LSU Gymnastics HC Jay Clark said after Bryant posted her 14th perfect 10. With no stop in near sight to the gymnast’s growth, here’s a look at the program standout, aiming for higher stages.

Who is Haleigh Bryant: All to know about LSU’s rising star

Haleigh Bryant was born to Terry and Trisha Bryant on the 20th of December, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia later moved to North Carolina. Haleigh then started her journey to being an LSU gymnastics standout as a 3-year-old, thanks to her parents’ encouragement in signing up for a class. As per reports, her father is a former university football player and mentor while her mother used to be a dance colleague and team promoter. Thus, helping her with a firm base required for her gymnastics path ahead.

Haleigh received her gymnastics training at Everest Gymnastics in North Carolina. Then went on to graduate from William Amous Hough High School. Stating 5 feet 5 inches tall, Haleigh further signed with LUS Gymnastics in 2019 because of its ‘amazing academics and athletics’. Currently a senior on the roster majoring in Kinesiology, here’s a look at all that Haleigh has achieved in the past 4 years and beyond.

Her gymnastic journey so far: What makes Haleigh Bryant one to watch out for

Starting as a three-year-old, Haleigh Bryant attained her very first feat as a contender at the 2016 Nastia Liukin Cup. Placing 6th in the junior division, she returned stronger in 2017. At the Junior Olympic Championships, the gymnast secured the titles on vault and floor exercise and placed first in all-around. Triumphs followed the gymnast from then on as she blazed through the 2018 and 2020 Nastia Cup for an all-around gold in each. In the same years, Bryant placed in the top 5 in all events at the Junior Championships and won the title on vault before heading to LSU gymnastics.

As a freshman Tiger, Haleigh recorded a career-high of 39.625 in all-around and scored a perfect 10 on Valut at the NCAA regionals. In the years that followed, she accumulated a total of 60 individual titles, 14 perfect 10s, and 17 All-American Honors. Today she stands as a 2023 NCAA all-around bronze medalist and a 2021 vault gold medalist, topping the ranking for 2024 season. Having established that with 10s on vault, bars, and floor for career-high, the LSU Gymnastics star will look to heightened triumph in the nearing championships.
