Jordan Chiles was 7 years old when her father enrolled her in gymnastics because he felt her extremely energetic attitude needed an avenue. Within a year, she was competing in Level 4 gymnastics, showcasing her talent. Ever since, Jordan has been in love with the sport. When she was starting out, Gina Chiles made the sacrifice of moving with Jordan to Texas so she could train at Simone Biles’ gym; World Champions Centre. She was, at one point in time, disillusioned with gymnastics and contemplated quitting them, hence the move to WCC. Gina later said, “She [Jordan] doesn’t ever ask for anything in regard to gymnastics. This is something she asked. ‘If you are 100 percent sure, we’ll do whatever we can to support it.’ … Here I am, in Texas.” Not only in this way, but Jordan Chiles’ parents have come in clutch for her daughter in every way possible.
When Chiles was considering quitting gymnastics, Gina helped her find the joy of the sport again.
