Jordan Chiles was born to her parents, Gina Chiles and Timothy Chiles, in Oregon on April 15th, 2001. Probably one of the greatest gymnasts to ever grace the mats with her inimitable grace and style, her childhood is particularly interesting to learn about. Her parents have supported her since a young age, when she quickly showed a natural predisposition for gymnastics.
Chiles was often cartwheeling and hand-walking instead of walking normally, and her parents encouraged her by enrolling her in a gym. As she took to gymnastics like a moth to a blazing flame, the solidarity and backing of her parents were ironclad.
Though Jordan Chiles’ parents are no longer together, she often speaks about how her family unites to support her whenever she needs them. Now let’s take a closer look at her parents, who made all of it possible for the phenom to compete. Let us explore the backgrounds of Jordan Chiles’ parents and the profound impact they have had on her career.

Who is Jordan Chiles’ father?
Jordan’s father, Timothy Chiles, who is a senior pastor at the According to His Word Worship Center in Vancouver, Washington, is, in Jordan’s words, the “person [she] needs[s] in the toughest moments.” She said, referring to the comfort her father is to her, “There is nothing like the arms of my dad to make me feel like everything will somehow be okay.”
According to His Word, Timothy established the church in 2007. Chiles’ father’s official biography states that “Apostle Timothy C. Chiles Jr. traveled the nation ministering alongside his father in various churches and tent revivals, experiencing the miraculous power of God touching the lives of many. He surrounded himself with music and song where he basked in the glory of God’s anointing.”
Timothy serves as president of the global outreach organization Better Life Crusades. Jordan Chiles’ father plays a vital role in Jordan’s gymnastics journey.

Jordan Chiles was 7 years old when her father enrolled her in gymnastics because he felt her extremely energetic attitude needed an avenue. Within a year, she was competing in Level 4 gymnastics, showcasing her talent. Ever since, Chick has been in love with the sport. While shaping the career of a child, both mother and father do their best to support. Jordan Chiles’ mother has also been a constant support system for her beside her father.
Who is Jordan Chiles’ mother?
Jordan Chiles’ parents have been her constant support from the beginning of her career. A pastor, Gina Chiles, wrote a book inspired by Jordan’s gymnastics journey named ‘Dream Big Little Chick.’ She even expressed her pride, saying, “Every moment that I watch Jordan is the most amazing moment as a mom.”
During the 2021 games, both her parents were present to watch their daughter on the mat, along with several other family members and friends. They were all wearing red T-shirts, with Team Chick on the front and a quote from Jordan on the back that read, “Believe in the power of your dreams.” Even her four older siblings wait for her games in rapture.

When the Olympic medalist was starting out, Gina Chiles made the sacrifice of moving with Jordan to Texas so she could train at Simone Biles’ gym, the World Champions Centre. She was, at one point in time, disillusioned with gymnastics and contemplated quitting them, hence the move to WCC.
Gina later said, “She [Jordan] doesn’t ever ask for anything in regard to gymnastics. This is something she asked. ‘If you are 100 percent sure, we’ll do whatever we can to support it.’ … Here I am, in Texas.” Gina even helped her daughter when she was in a dilemma. When Chiles was considering quitting gymnastics, Gina helped her find the joy of the sport again.
Even during the US Olympic Gymnastics trials when Jordan Chiles began crying because she couldn’t hold her nerves, her parents comforted her and helped her do her best. That’s not all; when Jordan Chiles made the US team, Gina says that’s the moment they knew their hard work had been realized. But which place instills the talent in her?
Where did Jordan Chiles grow up?
The Olympic champion spent around 18 years of her life in Vancouver. She was born there and started her gymnastics journey at Naydenov Gymnastics. But her life took her to another place, but for good. Later in 2019, Gina took her to Texas for further training. Got admission at the World Champions Centre, and since then she has not stopped.

Jordan said, “My family had to sacrifice a lot of things, especially my siblings taking me to the gym and doing all these things for me.” She further added, “It’s been like that my whole life. But now, I try to shy away from all of that attention. I was that center when I was younger and I want to give everybody else that attention now.”
Chick is now focusing on the 2025 NCAA season and two upcoming seasons at UCLA only. But what’s apart from that? Only time will tell.
