Jade has been one of the leading and consistent gymnasts in Team USA since she joined the senior team in 2017 as a 23-year-old. In total, she has earned seven World Championship medals – three of them gold. She is also the Olympic Champion in the floor exercise. But what is her source of motivation and determination?

The key behind Jade’s staggering success is simple – a loving and supportive family. Jade has two sisters, Alexsis Carey, and Taeva Greenberg, as well as a brother, Xandon Greenberg, all of them always push her forward and cheer for her. Jade’s parents, Brian Carey, and Danielle Greenberg, were gymnasts who had their gym when Jade was born. It is apparent, for that matter, that their input and determination have significantly influenced Jade’s gymnastics endeavors

Jade Carey is an accomplished gymnast, and that grit comes from a tight-knit family that has played a significant role in her success. Alexsis Carey is her older sister. Initially, she tried taking a potential interest in gymnastics, but then she dropped her plans, and after completing her studies, she got married. She is now a mother to a beautiful daughter named Olivia. Jade is often seen sharing heartwarming moments with her niece, who she considers her ”Bestie” for life.

Jade also has 2 younger siblings who are extremely supportive of her. Taeva Greenberg is her younger sister. She is also inspired by Jade and chooses to be a gymnast. Taeva is still quite young but she is focusing on her gymnastics career to become successful like her sister someday. Jade has a younger brother too. Xandon Greenberg, like Alexsis, also takes joy in his interests and studies.  But, every strong tree sprouts from a healthy base, roots that bind them! For Carey, it’s her parents.

Carey’s parents never pushed her or her siblings to follow a particular path

Jade Carey’s parents, Brian Carey, and Danielle Greenberg, were former gymnasts, separated amicably when she was young. However, they continued to support Jade and her siblings in their pursuits without letting the divorce affect them. Carey grew up in two different homes. “My philosophy from the beginning was I just wanted her to love the sport on her own. Her dad and I never pushed. We let her guide the ship all the way through. We didn’t talk about gymnastics at home. She could really just develop the way she wanted to,” mentioned Jade’s mother, Danielle Greenberg.

Her parents maintained a friendly relationship even after their split and created a practical custody arrangement around Jade’s training schedule. She typically spends time with her mom from Friday to Monday and with her dad for most of the week for training. Jade Carey also expressed her emotions when she was in Tokyo for the Olympics. “I’m really glad we were able to share this together, My parents have been very influential… My dad coaches me,” said Jade Carey. Hence, Jade’s gymnastics journey has been undoubtedly supported and encouraged by her family’s strong foundation, as everyone is actively involved in each other’s lives.
