Jordan Chiles has been on quite the emotional rollercoaster since her floor event at the Paris Olympics. After an appeal by Team USA, her original fifth position was changed to third, awarding her the bronze medal. She proudly stood on the podium alongside gold medalist Rebeca Andrade and silver medalist Simone Biles. But just when she thought it was all settled, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) reversed the decision, giving the bronze back to Romania’s Ana Barbosu. Why? Because Team USA allegedly didn’t file their appeal in time. Naturally, the team wasn’t thrilled and backed Jordan all the way, appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Unfortunately, on August 10th, CAS dismissed the appeal, ruling that Barbosu would keep the bronze. According to CAS, Cecile Landi had filed the appeal four seconds too late. Talk about harsh. With no fault of her own, Jordan was asked to return her medal, but she hasn’t handed it back just yet—and honestly, who could blame her? After everything she’s been through, it’s taken a real toll on her mental health.
Despite the setback, Jordan seems to be finding her way forward. In an Instagram story on September 5th, she posted a quote that read, “See how I let God handle it? Very patient, very faithful, very humble.” She’s clearly turning to her faith and blocking out the noise, which is exactly what she needs right now.

At first, she decided to quit social media altogether to prioritize her mental health after the debacle. “I’m taking this time and removing myself from social media for mental health thank you.” But now she seems to have decided to take a different route choosing to trust in her faith and starting to have fun again. Her latest post even taps into a popular TikTok trend by Jools Lebron, showing that she’s slowly coming back into the spotlight in her own way!
The viral “Very mindful, very demure” trend on TikTok has been blowing up, and it’s a perfect example of how quickly social media can turn a simple phrase into a cultural moment. The catchphrase, originally posted by beauty influencer Jools LeBron, now symbolizes classiness and inner peace, with millions of views and growing. In the video, Jools talks about how people should present themselves in professional settings, saying, “Your demure is what it means to you. It’s being mindful and considerate of the people around you, but also of yourself and how you present to the world.”
Jordan Chiles, who’s no stranger to keeping up with the latest trends, seems to be finding her own peace amidst the ongoing Olympic medal drama. She’s shown before that she’s in touch with what’s happening on social media. Remember her celebratory dance video with Suni Lee at the Olympics?

Fans hilariously dubbed it “Gen Z entering the Olympics,” which Jordan wasn’t too thrilled about since she doesn’t see herself as part of Gen Z but still found it funny. She even made it clear that she’s a huge fan of Megan and would love to collaborate with her one day. Now, while Jordan’s been leaning into her faith and stepping back into the spotlight, there might be some relief on the horizon in her medal controversy!

In their Instagram post, the Romanian Gymnastics Federation (RGF) stated, “The Romanian Gymnastics Federation prioritizes the mental health and emotional stability of all three athletes: Ana Maria Bărbosu, Sabrina Maneca Voinea, and Jordan Chiles.” They added, “Following the steps taken at the Swiss Federal Tribunal, RGF, through its lawyers, has sent an invitation for an open dialogue to all involved parties. The Romanian Gymnastics Federation believes that only a constructive dialogue could be the fastest and safest way to reach a joint agreement and avoid the negative impact on these amazing athletes.”
The ball is now in the US’s court to respond to this invitation. It’s clear that everyone is eager to bring closure to this protracted saga and focus on what matters most—the well-being of the athletes involved.
