Jordan Chiles has had a devastating experience post-Paris. While she came back smiling after winning the Olympic bronze, Chiles soon found out that she was being stripped of her medal. The gymnastics world was thrilled to witness Chiles coming out to throw the first pitch for the New York Mets recently. Dressed in a black top and skirt, Chiles donned the number 23 of the Mets jersey while on the field. As she completed a successful throw, Chiles followed her BFF, Simone Biles’ footsteps, who has had the privilege of throwing the first MLB pitch before. 

Unfortunately, such a happy incident was also not enough to wash off the darkness that Chiles has recently been in. Back in Paris, Chiles performed last on the floor finals. After completing her routine, the initial score was announced. Not satisfied with the judging, Cecile Landi submitted an inquiry that overturned the decision in favor of Chiles and awarded her the bronze medal. However, the Romanian team soon appealed against the decision at the CAA. Shockingly, it was allegedly found that Landi was late in submitting the inquiry request by 4 seconds. This meant that the revised score of Chiles was void and she was stripped of the medal with Ana Barbosu getting the third position.

Such a decision did not sit well with Team USA as they submitted video evidence. According to Team USA, the evidence made it clear that Cecile Landi submitted her inquiry well within the stipulated 1-minute mark. Following the incident, Chiles received significant support from renowned faces including her BFF, Simone Biles. And while the controversy is still brewing, Chiles is making every effort to come out of the fiasco. Her recent outing with the Mets went instantly viral on social media. While she got most of the praise, a portion of the crowd also criticized the move.

Not everyone was happy seeing Jordan Chiles throw the first pitch for the Mets. While several fans encouraged and applauded Chiles for her work, several others expressed disappointment.

Despite this, the fan acknowledges Chiles’ style statement. They suggested that if one overlooks their dislike for the Mets, Chiles’ outfit is still pretty impressive.
