With each having their own standout moments, Biles, Lee, Chiles, Carey and Rivera have made this possible with the combined team effort. Biles and Chiles contributed in all-around competition while Lee contributed to three events and Carey in one. This gold has been quite a redemption for them as they secured second position at the Tokyo Olympics after Biles pulled out from the team event. The US women’s gymnastics team scored 171.296 points, finishing 5,802 points ahead of Italy, who came in second. “It feels amazing. We love it, we’re excited.” “We got the job done,” said Biles after the win.
The Biles-Chiles pair was as iconic as it can be at the performance. Before starting the floor routine, Chiles made contact with the TV camera and winked and continued to mesmerize everyone with her routine, scoring third-highest of the night. In doing so, she made a memorable impression on the broader sports audience as the lively and bold half of the pair. “To be a part of winning this gold medal after everything I’ve gone through has been an amazing experience.” “I’m proud of every one of us. This smile is always going to be smiling,” Chiles said after winning the gold. There is no doubt that this gold means a lot to her after facing injuries in the past!

Jordan Chiles just like any other gymnast has faced severe injuries before the Olympics. From knees to shoulders, Chiles has faced it. She sprained her shoulder and missed out on the Winter Cup which was held in February and not just that she ended up in distress when she bruised and partially tore the collateral ligament on the outside of her knee just three weeks later. Chiles said, “I was like, ‘I’m done. I’m over this. I’m not doing any more. This is not it.’”
After facing the waves of quitting the sport she came back stronger than ever! These injuries did not stop her from preparing and gearing up for the Olympics. “I am a world champion. I will forever be a world champion. I’m an Olympian. I will forever be an Olympian.” “Those titles will never be stripped away from me.”
The whole crowd including her teammates cheered for her when Chiles entered the chalk box before opening and danced and waved to the audience. She executed a flawless double-twisting Yurchenko when her name was announced and after landing, she showed off some more dance moves. After her turn, she became the ‘hype woman’ to Carey and Biles and cheered for them till the very end.
