Handling fame can be a challenging task. Many get carried away, while others struggle to strike a balance. For Simone Biles, fame came early. As she went on register wins at the vault, she earned herself followers. Impressed by her personality and vault skills, the fans were all awe-struck. They did not just hail her as the gymnastics GOAT but also started to treat her as their idol.

To stay grounded, she strives to do her best. In 2016, when she met with then-President Barack Obama, she realized that he, too, was “normal.” But what made her feel so?

Simone shared her experience of meeting The Obamas at the White House

The Obamas may have been the political elite and the official head of the Nation, but at the end of the day, they, too, are normal people. It’s just the chair that differentiates them from the rest, baring apart the fact that they, too, are just like any typical American Couple. And more interestingly, they were Simone Biles fans as well.

Simone and her team visited the White House to meet with Mr. President and the First Lady; the young gymnasts were ecstatic to receive such a warm welcome. As Obama tried his best to perfect some gymnast moves, Simone and her girls had fun.

Talking about the day, she said, “I think we forget that they’re normal.” She also went on to reveal that “he and Michelle were bickering back and forth about who was getting in the picture.” However, Obama was not the only U.S. President that Simone got to spend her time with. Years later, she again got a chance to visit the White House, only to return with an honor that made her ‘an inspiration.’

Simone Biles met President Joe Biden for a special reason 

Simone’s achievements are too big for her young age. With 25 world championships and seven Olympic medals, she is a GOAT of the sport. Thus, honoring her achievements and crediting her for all she has done for society, she was awarded the ‘Presidential Medal of Freedom.’

President Joe Biden bestowed the award for her contribution. She was praised for her valuable contribution. For the unknown, she became the youngest recipient of the award. She also frequently contributes to the development of her Nation and community in fields unrelated to gymnastics.
