Kara Eaker is a well-known name in gymnastics. The 20-year-old gymnast has made waves in the gymnastics world since her debut as a senior in 2018. By becoming the champion at the 2018 Pan American and 2019 Pan American Games, she proved that she was a force to be reckoned in the sport. During the qualifications, Eaker put forward a stunning performance and qualified in second place to compete in the balance beam final, behind the legendary Simone Biles. The championships took place at the Aspire Academy Dome in Doha, Qatar. Eaker represented Team USA alongside Biles, Morgan Hurd, Grace McCallum, Riley McCusker, and the traveling alternate Ragan Smith.
How Eaker contributed towards the gold medal for Team USA
For this alluring routine during qualifications, she landed a massive 14.466. Then, following the amazing performance of Eaker at qualifications, she proceeded as part of Team USA and took part in the team finals. Here, Eaker competed only on the balance beam apparatus.
Her immense skill landed her a score of 14.333, which was the highest score of the night on the balance beam. This score by Eaker contributed to the team?s final score, which totaled a massive 171.629 points, earning them the gold medal and making them the World Champions that year.
