The ‘before’ clip depicted a teenage Livvy performing a dismount from uneven bars while she was still a part of USA Gymnastics. Although her talent was evident, there was a subtle wobble as she launched herself from the bars, executed a twist, and landed. The ‘after‘ clip portrayed her as the collegiate-level gymnast now representing LSU.

In this video, she executed the same dismount flawlessly, displaying remarkable growth and development. There was no wobble, no hesitation; she landed perfectly on her feet. The video ended with Livvy and her coach, both overwhelmed with joy, cheering and celebrating her flawless execution.

Her teammates joined in, welcoming her with hugs and applause. Captions accompanied the video, with the ‘before’ clip bearing the words, “We?ll be fine line,” and the ‘after’ clip expressing her present achievement and transformation with the words, “We?ll be alright.” These quotes were from the song “Fine Line” by Harry Styles, which also served as the video’s backing track, perfectly syncing with her before-and-after narrative.

This video comes after Livvy had previously touched upon the issues within USA Gymnastics during an appearance on the NELK podcast, shedding light on the turmoil and challenges she faced while part of the national team.

Livvy opens up about issues at USA Gymnastics

Her decision to decline further training with USA Gymnastics was a courageous one, shaped by the unfavorable environment and the scandals that had plagued the sport. In her own words, “USA Gymnastics fell apart in a sense while I was in that program.” This revelation showcased her resilience and determination to prioritize her well-being and happiness. The Gymnastics scandal?exposed the horrifying actions of Dr. Larry Nassar, a former national team doctor, and shook the world.

This came to light in September 2016 when The Indianapolis Star uncovered the truth. Since then, a brave cadre of women, including renowned gymnasts such as Jessica Howard, Jamie Dantzscher, Maggie Nichols, Gabby Douglas, and Simone Biles, have come forward with allegations against Nassar. Their collective voices demanded accountability and change, ensuring the safety and well-being of athletes would never be compromised again.
