Her coaches and the constant support of her parents have helped Simone reach the epitome of her career. However, Simone and her sister were adopted by Nellie and Ron, they never left any situation to make her special. Then whom did Simone call her second mom?

Simone Biles called her gymnastic coach her second mother

Aimee Boorman is a former American gymnast. She began coaching Simone when she was just an 8-year-old girl. Boorman knew every minor aspect of Biles’ professional and personal life. Boorman was the one who spotted the talent in Biles at a small age and became her personal coach since. However, Boorman and Biles parted ways after the 2016 Rio Olympics.

In an interview in 2016, Simone called Aimee her second mother, and explained the reason as well. She said“She’s known me forever, so I feel like she’s my second mom.” She continued, “I’ve stayed at her house when my parents were out of town, and I used to see her more than my parents.”

However, this mother-daughter relationship wasn’t as smooth as others. They argued, they disagreed, and they had a turbulent relationship with each other while discussing gymnastics. On the other hand, they loved each other. Boorman once said, “There was a lot of head butting.”

It wasn’t because of any conflict. Aimee decided to support her husband in changing his job to where he wanted. So she moved to Florida with him. In 2016, Boorman said“We were both sad, but [Simone] understands that life moves on and she knows that if she plans to continue in gymnastics… I will always be willing to coach her.” She added, “I will be there as a mentor.”
