The results are in, and Donald Trump is officially on his way to becoming the 47th President of the United States of America. As a large part of the country celebrates his victory, Simone Biles struggles to be among the jubilant ones. Instead, she has something to say to the departing President Joe Biden.
In her X post from November 6, the GOAT of gymnastics urged the ex-POTUS to make the moment count and do something titular as he bids goodbye to the White House. “Mr Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back and make some things shake before your departure,” Biles wrote in her social media update, underscoring her heartbreak at the result of the Presidential election. Along with her plea to the exiting Biden, she also shared hugs for all the women in the country.
Over the years, Simone Biles has crossed paths with Trump several times, albeit not physically. The newly elected President’s comments have visibly irked the 7x Olympic gold medalist, and she has retorted back whenever possible. After her stellar performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Houston native took to social media to quip that she loves her “black job,” which was seemingly a jibe at Trump’s controversial comment that immigrants are sweeping over the country.

On election day, the Olympian extended her support for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. “Let’s go kamala mamala,” wrote Simone Biles on Instagram threads, making it clear who she wanted to be seated at the White House next. While her fans were quick to show support, Biles’ wish didn’t pan out.
Now there’s nothing left to do but accept the mass verdict on who the nation wants to lead for the next four years. And yet, coming to terms with reality looks like a challenge for Simone. In her Instagram story, she called it “insane” that a woman would have to concede defeat to Donald Trump. However, the 27-year-old gymnastics icon isn’t alone in her heartbreak.

Simone Biles’ national teammate and BFF Jordan Chiles also seemed to be aghast by what the electoral results were. Taking to Instagram, the UCLA star sent a message to “women everywhere.” “You are the heartbeat of progress. You are seen, valued, and unstoppable,” wrote Chiles, assuring her fellow countrywomen that together they can bring a change no matter the situation once they set their hearts to it. On the other hand, former Team USA gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez also expressed her feelings about Trump’s victory by sharing Kamala Harris’ message from the day on her Instagram story.
For now, Simone Biles’ own future in gymnastics is a subject of speculation for many. After her triumphant return to the top of the game at the City of Love earlier this year, fans across the USA were treated to two more months of her magic thanks to the second edition of the Gold Over America Tour.
