Jordan Chiles proved her mettle to the world at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. When the gymnastics all-rounder, the legendary Simone Biles, bowed out of the events at the Tokyo Olympics due to mental health concerns, Chiles was abruptly thrown into the limelight. However, she beautifully lived up to everyone’s expectations, which is surprising, considering the fact that she almost gave up on the sport in 2018.
Jordan Chiles almost checked out of gymnastics in 2018, until she met the very gymnast she replaced, Simone Biles. Chiles moved thousands of miles to train with Biles and ultimately stole everyone’s hearts when she played a big hand in winning Team USA’s silver at the Tokyo Olympics. Now, the Vancouver native is looking forward to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Chiles added, “I have done it once before, so I’m just out here seeing if I can do it again and, you know, live life how I should be living it and just enjoying and having fun.” If one would remember the awry situation that Chiles took Team USA out of, there is no doubt left that she will do great at the Paris Olympics as well.
Back in 2021, the then 20 -year-old was only supposed to participate in two events in the team final: the vault and the floor. With Biles off the mats, Chiles had to cover two additional events. And that, she did beautifully. She scored 14.666 on the vault, 14.166 on the bars, 13.433 on the beam, and 11.700 on the floor. Now, Jordan Chiles plans to stand at the top of the podium, and her dream is to win a gold for her team, something she has been constantly preparing for.
Heavy-duty training plans are in motion
Jordan Chiles, who has been named after the star athlete Michael Jordan, seems to be in pursuit of a similar glory as him. I?ll just be training.” To give effect to the same, she will be deferring her studies at UCLA by another year. Her plans for the distant future are yet undecided, but she will be seen at UCLA after Paris.
