Does Simone Biles' mentorship make her the ultimate GOAT, not just in gymnastics but in sports?

“She is somebody that I’m always going to look up to no matter what it is in life,” Jordan Chiles stated in a chat with PEOPLE about how the GOAT of gymnastics has a huge role in her life. As the clock is ticking towards just an 8-day countdown for the 2024 Paris Olympics, being trained by a legend is a privilege but not an easy one. In the gymnasium, Simone Biles sets an almost unachievable benchmark as the most decorated gymnast in history. Having Biles around means that those around her at the World Champions Centre (WCC) in Houston, Texas, should step up their game.

Beyond just her ability, Biles impacts others around her because of her constant drive. For her close friend and fellow gymnast Jordan Chiles, in particular, her mere presence fosters an environment where comfort is not an option. Shades of Michael Jordan in ‘The Last Dance’ comes to our minds. Yet, the BFF bond of both gymnasts extends beyond the mat.

Jordan Chiles has an awful lot of respect for Simone Biles. “I understand the process a little more,” Chiles puts in her thoughts regarding Biles. “Whether it’s my first Olympics, my first international assignment, whether it’s my second Olympic trials, she’s been there for me in a million different ways and I can’t say thank you enough.” It perfectly captures the ‘Rising’ of Biles’s impact on Chiles.

However, Jordan Chiles made her Olympic debut in Tokyo but didn’t turn up very successfully, despite capturing a silver medal in the team competition. On the other hand, Tokyo was difficult for Simone Biles’ too. Many fans were bewildered when Simone Biles revealed the “twisties” after pulling out of the Olympic squad final.

After three years, beckons Paris. The ‘gold’ dreams reignite!

Hence, the WCC has a very competitive yet cooperative atmosphere. When you train with Biles, you must uphold the greatest standards and her vast experience from numerous Olympic cycles and international events benefit Chiles and other gymnasts.

“I love it,” Chiles commented, recalling Biles’ bond. Chiles feels thrilled with her growth and the chance to compete with her idol.
