Grant Holloway's latest feat—Is he the new face of American track and field greatness?

Away from men’s gymnastics, Stephen Nedoroscik is attracting the limelight on the stage of Dancing with the Stars, Season 33. His chemistry with co-dancer Rylee Arnold caught everyone’s attention, leaving the glamorous world stunned after their jive performance on the opening night of the dance reality show. Additionally, both the gymnastics and entertainment worlds were taken by surprise as another unbelievable incident unfolded under the silvery spotlight of DWTS.

At the Paris Olympics, the former world champion gymnast turned eyes for his Clark Kent-like appearance. He was seen taking a nap before his much-tensed pommel horse routine in the men’s artistic gymnastics. Additionally, he removed his glasses just before his routine to acclimatize his eyes. Notably, Stephen Nedoroscik has a chronic eye issue and he can’t complete his marquee routine wearing his glasses, fearing those falling off.

On the penultimate day, nothing could stand in Stephen Nedoroscik’s way of becoming an individual Olympic medalist in men’s gymnastics—a feat that had eluded Team USA since the 2016 Rio Olympics. The Penn State gymnast pulled it off with ease. Now, on the dance stage, he has surprised everyone again by performing without his glasses, showcasing his Superman-like abilities.

But Stephen Nedoroscik is not the only one to take that honor in the current crops of Team USA. As per Justin Gatlin, Grant Holloway can also take the same title. The former Olympic champion named Holloway’s extraordinary achievements in track sports as the contributing factor. In the conversation with Rodney Green and Tiara ‘Tee’ Williams in the Ready Set Go podcast, Gatlin threw his weight behind Holloway for six prime reasons that made him the Superman.

The 42-year-old narrated those as “Indoor world champion, right indoor world record holder, outdoor world champion, Olympic champion, right! The most sub-12 ever in the event, period! over all the great, second fastest time ever in the event, right by only by one-hundredth of a second. He’s right there.” The points Gatlin made are quite on the spot.

However, there are a few more reasons that make Grant Holloway a force to be reckoned with in the short sprint hurdles. In the 60m hurdles event, the 26-year-old has remained undefeated for the past 10 years. Additionally, this year, Holloway has posted 11 top times in the 110m hurdles. Beyond track and field, during his school years, Brooklyn was a revered name in football, known as a 4-star wide receiver. These accomplishments firmly establish his stature in the higher leagues. Yet, when it comes to earning top honors, the paths of Holloway and Stephen Nedoroscik have run through different lanes.

After the Paris Olympics, Stephen Nedoroscik came out to be the fan favorite for his achievements, nerdy presence, and whatnot. However, Grant Holloway also had flowers waiting for him. He entered the Diamond League afterward to extend his memorable summer. Nedoroscik, on the other hand, announced joining Dancing with the Stars as his next endeavor, refusing Simone Biles’s Gold Over America Tour. Yet, the results remained different.

While in the opening night of DWTS, Nedoroscik’s jive with Rylee Arnold earned him accolades and a bagful of votes, Holloway had to bow out from the Diamond League final despite his tag of being ‘favorite’. On X, he blamed ‘failure to reach agreements on the terms of his participation between his team and the meeting directors of the Diamond League.’ Ultimately, it came down to the less appearance fees. In one such post, the reigning Olympic champion vented his emotion by penning, “Trash a** track meet.” That’s how his summer ended, failing to get justified dimes. But Stephen Nedoroscik looks to enjoy his newfound love in DWTS. He can be the one to get the top title in the final. What do you think of these contrasting pictures? Let us know.
