Jordan Chiles won Olympic gold as part of the “Golden Girls” squad, and now she’s hoping to score big in the world of fashion too. Now, fashion and gymnastics may seem like two completely separate avenues, but Jordan is taking the reins—or should we say reign—on blending the best of both worlds. Who could forget her iconic Beyoncé-inspired leotard at the U.S. Championships or her obsession with Nike Air Jordans (over 100 pairs, by the way)? Now, her attention’s shifting to the world of track and field—not for the speed, but for the style.
Over the years, athletes like Usain Bolt, Noah Lyles, and Sha’Carri Richardson have been making statements with their fashion, but let’s be real—the woman who started it all was Florence Griffith Joyner. Flo-Jo was a pioneer on and off the track, and while her world record times in the 100m and 200m have been held since 1988, her fierce fashion sense has inspired generations. Serena Williams, Sha’Carri Richardson, Beyoncé—countless icons have honored the legend who once said, “Dress good to look good. Look good to feel good. And feel good to run fast!” And now, guess who’s joining that list?
It’s none other than Jordan Chiles. While currently touring with the Gold Over America tour, she’s been mixing in some fashion slays, too. In her latest appearance on tour, as seen in a snippet shared by KCTV, she surprised fans by rocking a leotard inspired by none other than Flo-Jo herself. Her navy blue leotard, with one leg fully covered, immediately brought fans back to the days when Flo-Jo was setting tracks on fire with her signature one-legged looks.

And Jordan Chiles’ not alone—this style has been sported by Serena Williams, Beyoncé, Angel Reese, and even LeBron James. Jordan’s always known for her show-stopping competition outfits, so it’s no shock she’s got a soft spot for Flo-Jo’s style. In fact, Jordan Chiles has been vocal about her love for the track legend.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed, “She was always known for having long nails. So I thought: ‘Okay, if she was able to do that on track, why can’t we do that in other sports? Why can’t I do that with gymnastics?’” And clearly, she seems to be doing just that. But Jordan Chiles isn’t just rocking her iconic leotards and fashion sense on the gymnastics stage.
After she went from flipping across the mat at the Paris Olympics, she was seen strutting down the runway at New York Fashion Week! The Olympic medalist made her fashion week debut by closing out the Kim Shui Spring 2025 ready-to-wear show in New York on September 7. And she didn’t stop there—Jordan also stunned in a jaw-dropping black dress at the LaQuan Smith SS25 Runway Show in Brooklyn.
In her interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Chiles opined that doing things differently made her feel confident, especially in a sport like gymnastics, where there’s often a rigid playbook for how things should be done. Breaking those stereotypes, she said, showcases the strength of character that made her proudly declare, “I am that girl.” Yet, despite her Olympic gold medal and trailblazing moves, Jordan Chiles is still facing some bumps along the road.

Jordan Chiles still fights for her Olympic bronze
Smiles soon turned into despair for Jordan Chiles as the CAS overturned her bronze triumph. Back in Paris, during the individual floor finals, Jordan Chiles was given third place over Romania’s Ana Barbosu. However, after Romania took things to the Court of Arbitration, the ruling came in favor of Barbosu. The reason? Chiles’ inquiry was found to be 47 seconds late!
But this was not the end of the drama. Team US soon claimed that Cecile Landi, who was in charge of inquiring, was right on time. They even submitted a piece of video evidence to prove that the inquiry was not late. With multiple back-and-forths going on, Jordan Chiles has taken things to the Swiss Tribunal. Interestingly, the Romanian and American gymnastics authorities have also come together to express their concern on the matter.

They both agreed on the fact that such developments are disturbing for gymnasts after all the hard work they put in. Thus, continuing her battle for survival in the gymnastics fraternity, Jordan Chiles remains a true example of grit, determination, and resilience who aims to soar high on the elite level.
