At age 6, Simone Biles began competing in the sport by attending Bannon’s Gym, owned by her parents. The legendary gymnast marked her victory in the 2016 Olympics. After winning four of the five gold medals she earned in 2016, she took some time off before returning to the sport. Since then, she has only been a constant reminder of her immense talent, drive, and dominance in gymnastics.

Following her victories, Simone made history by becoming the first female gymnast to win four all-around world titles at the world championships in Doha, Qatar. Her victory was further made more emotional when her supporters learned that she had been admitted to the hospital a week prior due to kidney stones.

Disappointment of Simone Biles

However, despite making history and winning by her greatest margin ever at the world championships, Simone seemed disappointed. During an interview with USA Gymnastics, she addressed her few mistakes and said it wasn’t her best performance.

She made a few handling mistakes, including two falls and a step outside the line during her floor exercise. Apologizing to her fans, she stated, “I’m still pretty disappointed in myself because I know what I can do out there despite the all-around and, you know, winning gold. It doesn’t show who I am, and that’s just kind of disappointing.”

Further, she added, “I kind of hoped that it didn’t turn out the way it did. I feel like the girls work so hard, and they deserve it a little bit better than me because it depends on how good you do that day, and today wasn’t my best.” However, her fans weren’t disappointed but shocked to see her apologizing.

From time to time, it was seen that Simone’s parents had always cheered her on from the stands. However, due to the COVID-19 precautions, her parents were not allowed. Following this, Simone’s nervousness was visible on her face.

In addition, Biles was not allowed to have ADHD medication due to the different policies of the Tokyo Olympics. All of this combined forced her to the edge and she decided to withdraw. However, now her fans eagerly look forward to her comeback in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
