Jordan Chiles flaunted her best maneuvering moves when the US Team needed it the most—at the Tokyo Olympics. The standout performance earned her a permanent spot in the hearts of many bringing in new work. It all began when Chiles was captivated by the US team’s performance, especially Shawn Johnson in the 2008 Olympics. Star-stuck, she queued up at a Nike Store in Seattle to meet Johnson, and later posted on Twitter(X) how she got inspired “to dream.”
Fast forward to this year, not only did Chiles enter the elite gymnastics club, she also became a Nike athlete. In her most recent project with the brand, she collaborated with another Olympian to reveal her bada** look.

After being famously welcomed on board by Nike in June this year, Chiles joined the roster of athletes promoting the billion-dollar empire. Taking to her Instagram, Chiles posted a photoshoot dump from her newest campaign with Nike. Interestingly, her tagged photographer Alex Shibutani is an Olympic medalist turned photographer. According to Shibutani’s LinkedIn, he and his sister, Maia, were the first Asian ice skaters (and the first non-white team) to win gold in Ice Dancing at the Olympic Winter Games.
Known as “ShibSibs,” they have won 3XWorlds, 5X U.S. Championships, and are two-timer U.S. Olympic Team members. In addition, Maia and Alex also won the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in January 2023. Together they boast a high-profile collab portfolio work with Ralph Lauren, Coca-Cola, and Hershey’s in addition to hosting events with “the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the U.S. – Japan Council.” While the shoot drops are yet to be released by Nike, another gymnast on their team promoted their cause a while back.
Nike receives praise from gymnastics star
As part of the ‘No off-season’ podcast in 2022, Laurie Hernandez, who also joined Nike, advocated for mental health and well-being during Mental Health Awareness Month. Laurie thanked Nike for collaborating to introduce Body Confident Sport, a cutting-edge online coaching program.
Reflecting on the change and its future impact, she said, “Sports fuels confidence, which in turn enables girls to enjoy a lifetime of moving and playing the sports they love. This is why I’m so proud to team up with Nike to support Body Confident Sport.”
