America has been a breeding ground for legendary sporting names, with icons like Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky leading the way. Biles has carved a path of her own in the gymnastics world and is considered one of the greatest of all time. In the recently concluded 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Biles created history by claiming Yurchenko Double Pike to her name and added another feather to her crown.

On the other hand, Katie Ledecky also is a force to be reckoned with, as the list of her swimming achievements just goes on and on. Having secured ten Olympic medals, she also broke Michael Phelps record for most individual titles in swimming. Apart from framing all these accolades on their walls of fame, these American prodigies share something in common, which was revealed recently in an intriguing social media post.

The similarity between Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky

The NBC Olympics and Paralympics shared a post on their Twitter handle (now X), and it features both of these legends in a single frame. The post depicts some of their coincidental achievements, which include winning their first world titles at the age of 16 in 2013. Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky also share the same birth month and year, which is March 1997. Apart from these similarities, these two also share the same zodiac sign, as evident from the caption of the post that reads, “It’s a pisces thing.”

Both have achieved numerous Olympic medals and an impressive collection of world titles. Ohio based gymnast boasts an astounding 23 world titles, while Ledecky has claimed the top spot on the podium 21 times in world championships. Having started their respective careers at the same point in time, these two went on to achieve some great milestones and bring glory to the United States multiple times.

The greatest accomplishments of these two

Simone Biles made her maiden Olympics appearance at the 2016 Rio Olympics and went on to win four gold medals, one silver, and two bronzes. In contrast, Katie Ledecky embarked on her Olympic journey at the 2012 London Olympics, accumulating an impressive seven gold and three silver medals. This year, in July, the Washington-born swimmer etched her name in the history books after she surpassed Michael Phelps’s most individual world championship golds (15).

She achieved this feat after winning the 800-meter freestyle final and becoming the first swimmer to win 16 Swimming World Championship golds. Biles is also not much behind in terms of winning a staunch of world championship titles and became the most decorated gymnast of all time. With this, Biles lifted her eighth all-around title at the 2023 Xfinity Gymnastics Championships and claimed her beloved Yurchenko Double Pike to her name.
