Simone Biles is a true hero who remembers every important date of her near and dear ones. Delivering one of the best Olympic performances at the French capital, Biles added 3 more golds to her kitty. However, despite a draining build-up season in Paris, Biles is not done yet. She has jumped right into the Gold Over America Tour, showcasing her mesmerizing moves all over the country. But what about the one person who pulled Biles out of oblivion after Tokyo?
Well, how can Simone Biles forget Cecile Landi? And surely enough, she didn’t. While Landi celebrated her 45th birthday in Georgia, Biles gave her best regards all the way from Pennsylvania. Taking to Instagram, the modern-day gymnastics GOAT wished Cecile Landi a very happy birthday. Biles wrote in her story, “Happy birthday to the greatest coach @cecilelandi”. Biles also seemed excited as she mentioned a probable meetup between the two in Duluth, Minnesota. Alongside the caption, Biles posted a couple of photo collages that depicted the best times of Simone Biles along with Cecile Landi.
The first one was from their marriage ceremony. Dressed in a white gown, Biles and Jonathan Owens were seen happily sharing the frame with Cecile and Laurent Landi. However, the image below held equal importance in Biles’ life. Together with Cecile and Laurent, Biles was seen posing with all the Olympic medals that she won in Paris. Cecile, Laurent, and Biles wore one of the 3 gold medals each, reminding fans that the medals were equally deserved by Biles’ coaches. However, amidst all the celebrations, the US gymnastics queen had a subtle warning for Georgia coming in.

As a matter of fact, following the conclusion of the Paris Olympics, Cecile Landi brought her stay at the World Champions Center to a close. Transitioning into a new role, she took up the mantle of being the assistant coach for the University of Georgia. Concerned about Cecile’s stay in Athens, Biles warned Athens about taking good care of the iconic coach. Biles wrote, “Athens treat her right! She’s special!” Well, there’s a reason for Biles to be so concerned about Cecile. After all, the duo do share a very special bond.
Simone Biles and Cecile Landi’s super strong bond at a glance
It is very easy for a coach to dismiss a student who does not fit into the stereotypes. However, Cecile Landi is built differently. With people doubting her skills back in France, Cecile had big dreams of coming to the USA. And well, she got Simone Biles to work with. A glance at Biles and Cecile knew that she had to customize her coaching tactics to train Biles. After all, the gymnastics GOAT did not fit into the stereotypes of what defines a ‘beautiful’ gymnast. While Biles suffered a heavy heartbreak after her ‘twisties’ debacle in Paris, Cecile took it upon herself to make Biles the champion she was once again.

Surely enough, Cecile’s efforts did not go in vain. Coming back stronger than ever before, Simone Biles cemented herself as the undisputed GOAT of female gymnastics. And the interesting bit is, Landi was always sure about Biles’ triumph. Speaking on the ‘All Things Gymnastics’ podcast before Paris, Landi opened up about Biles’ mental state going into Paris.
She said, “She’s really in tune with how she’s feeling mentally and physically, speaking up about it, keeping up with her therapist weekly. She knows it’s important… We’ve scheduled a lot of appointments until the end and making sure she has that routine going ’cause she knows she needs it. It’s an escape and it’s also what helps her continue what she’s doing.” Thus, with a lot of love evident between the two, it seems that the bond is only getting stronger with each passing day.
