Simone Biles Teasing New Move Has Jonathan Owens Shocked: ‘Like Whattt’

When someone talks about the best in gymnastics, Simone Biles‘ name always stands tall. The gymnast has been arguably the greatest ever to step on the mat amongst them all. This can be proven through her incredible medal tally of 11 at the Olympics and 30 at the World Championships. However, her achievements have not slowed her down one bit.

Currently, she is embarking on one of her passion projects with the Gold Over America tour. Like all the things she has done throughout her career, this has turned out to be a success, too, with widespread acclaim among the audiences. But now it seems like she wants to try something completely new.

In an Instagram story uploaded by husband Jonathan Owens, Simone Biles can be seen performing the Pommel horse. Owens was left shocked by the whole endeavor and could not believe what he was witnessing through his own eyes. The NFL star captioned the story saying, “Like Whattt.” Jonathan also uploaded another story before that, with Simone performing the move. He captioned it with, “No lie, this is probably the most impressive thing I’ve seen her do; I was in awe.”

The reason for Jonathan Owens’ utter astonishment at Simone Biles’ move was that female gymnasts rarely perform pommel horse. It is a skill reserved for male gymnasts and is not a part of female competitions. This is because men mostly use their upper body strength while performing the pommel horse.

On the other hand, women rely on their lower bodies to compete in their respective competitions. It is also based on a bit of old age norms, as female gymnastics originated from dancing. Thus, most of their categories involve elegance and poise, unlike pommel horse. However, Simone Biles has achieved enough in her career to ignore the present norms. There’s now a chance that we witness her doing the move on the tour. In fact, there might be a lot of things we might witness in the next GOAT performance. One of them involves might in fact, involve Jonathan Owens performing.

Simone Biles teases Jonathan Owens’ debut in the Gold Over America Tour

Simone Biles is set to perform in Houston next as part of the Gold Over America tour. This is a very special occasion for her as she will be performing in her hometown for the first time after her heroics at the Paris Olympics. Simone’s husband, Jonathan Owens who was by her side throughout the competition, will most probably be with her here too. However, there’s a chance that the NFL star does way more than that.

In a recent Instagram story, Simone Biles’ husband can be seen trying the sport in which his wife is so renowned. He stepped into the parallel bars, trying his best to maneuver through it. Olympic bronze medalist Brody Malone was seen looking on as Jonathan tried his best to complete the move.

This made Simone make a cheeky request to the main sponsors of the show, Athleta, asking them whether she should add her husband to the main squad. It would be incredibly interesting to see this happen as an NFL star has barely ever tried his hand in gymnastics before. Additionally, he could use the notes which he took while his wife was competing at the Paris Olympics too! Thus, it would add a great twist to the tour if it actually happens.
