A whole lot of stuff is at stake as the 2024 Olympic Games waits to come crashing down on the French capital. Among the American stars who will be descending upon the City of Love, the gymnastics phenom Simone Biles probably has the most daunting task. In a bid to set the records straight after her troubles at the Tokyo Olympics, the 27-year-old has gained significant momentum ahead of the Paris Olympics. And now, she’s set to get some extra kick to the engines.
When Simone called her mom from Tokyo to tell her with a quivering voice about the mental dilemma she was experiencing, Nellie didn’t hesitate to extend full support to her nervous daughter. It was again Nellie who revealed the news to the rest of the Biles family. While they were firm in their support when Simone opted out of the last tournament, they seem to be more than eager to ensure their beloved girl has all her cheerleaders in the stand this time.

In an Instagram story, Simone’s dear niece, Ronni, seems to be on her way to Paris to help TT keep a hold of her nerves. Captioned, “see you soon paris,” the post by Simone’s sister-in-law shows a beaming Baby Biles who is evidently excited by all the adventure for this particular family trip across the pond. On the other hand, the elite gymnast’s sibling Adria also shared a couple of images showing off her fluorescent nail art and a reflection of herself on the window of the flight.

In another of Sammi’s IG stories, Ronni can be seen hashing out the details of their itinerary with Adria. However, while Simone’s family is determined to physically stand in her corner at this year’s Games, the families of the participants weren’t allowed to travel with them during the Tokyo Olympics because of the COVID-19 protocols and now it looks like Biles’ has been blessed with good fortune. Not all athletes are bequeathed the same hand, though.

In May this year, track and sprint star Kenny Bednarek noted how the rising costs are making it difficult for him to bring his family to Paris. And yet, it looks like Simone’s folks aren’t willing to leave anything to chance when it comes to helping her sit on the top of the food chain.

While the family makes the long journey across the Atlantic, let’s remember that the Houston native gymnast has been on a roll herself to ensure high possibilities of bringing hardware home from Paris. After a long hiatus to find her mojo back after the incident three years ago, Simone returned to action at last year’s US Classic. Since then, there hasn’t been one tournament where she participated and didn’t win the top spot. At this year’s Core Hydration US Classic, Xfinity US Championships, as well as the US Olympic Team Trials, Biles consistently clinched top-of-the-podium finishes to show her fixation on bouncing back from the pit she was in.
Now, the thing that remains to be seen is if Biles’ husband and Chicago Bears football safety Jonathan Owens is also on his way to stand behind her and help her stay focused on the big prize at hand.
