That night Simone made a fashion statement

Biles attended the 2021 Met event as the brand partner of Athleta. Adhering to the 2021 theme “In America: The lexicon of fashion,” all Simone wanted was to wear a dress that would represent a gymnast. To turn her vision into a reality, the gymnast worked closely with stylist Leslie Fremar.

The three-piece ensemble comprised a hand-beaded skirt that weighed 88 pounds. It was encrusted with Swarovski crystals, a minidress, and a shimmering black catsuit that resembled a starry night sky. The gymnast’s big silver train had to be carried up the stairs by a group of six men because it was so heavy.
