Did Jimmy Fallon cross the line with his joke about Simone Biles, or was it all in good fun?

Simone Biles on a talk show? Well, the combination seems dreamy! Especially in a post-Olympics scenario, while another one of her gymnastics tours is also just an arm’s length away. There is just so much that the world needs her to shed light on! But what happens when things accidentally take a turn, leading the 11x Olympic medalist to get caught up in an unanticipated moment? As Biles appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, she was under the spotlight. And when you’re with Jimmy, oh boy, he is more than attentive!

Engulfed in a whirlwind of questions, the gymnast who donned a brown blazer and her goat necklace looked confident from the get-go. But, when Fallon asked her to voice a few words about her upcoming Gold Over America Tour, her answer led the host to poke fun at her.

Simone Biles admitted, “It’s basically a gymnastics spectacular of the Olympians…” She then continues how international elites are joining them. And further mentions, “We have the guys on our tour this time, and they actually medaled. So, congrats to them!” This is when Jimmy Fallon bursts out in a laugh and playfully teases her, saying, “That’s not a dig.”

While Biles chucked too and clarified, “No, that’s great!” As Fallon jested at Biles’ comment about the men ‘finally medaling’ it looked like the GOAT’s remarks accidentally sounded like shade. However, she immediately clarified, “No, that’s great. First time since 2008, right?” To which Fallon replies, “Yes, we’re saying we are happy for them!” And Simone Biles immediately agreed, “Yes definitely.”

But Fallon continued to make this a humorous moment. Doing a small dramatic bit, he then acts a slow clap version saying, “They finally medaled, We’re fine” This gives Biles a good laugh. Although, she then says, “They’re going to kill me!” But Fallon reassured her, “No, no, this could be fun!” However, as she sat down with Fallon, it wasn’t just about the fun.

Simone Biles did answer some important questions, like what could one expect from the second version of her upcoming documentary, Simone Biles Rising- part 2.

Part 1 of Simone Biles Rising is currently out and aired on Netflix on July 17. But the second version of the same is set to release on October 25. Before this, the gymnast herself gives the audience a glimpse into it on the Tonight Show. She describes part 2 as one that would cover the lead-up to the Paris Olympics, the main event, and also what happened after. Thus, it would feature an ‘in-depth look’ into her experience of the 2024 Summer Games.

She mentions how people do not fully understand and realize everything that goes into preparing for the biggest event every four years. It would almost feel like an intimate experience while the spectators watch the series. After this, a short clip from the same is aired on the show. It featured Simone Biles from the 2013 World Championships, as she reminisced about her glorious gymnastics journey.
