Simone Biles has been synonymous with US gymnastics with her ever-growing list of glory. From junior elite to the stages of the Olympics, the 26-year-old has conquered it all to stand as the most decorated gymnast of all time. However, following her decision to cut her 2020 Olympic journey short due to twisties, the 7-time Olympic medalist has found more to life than the grounds of gymnastics.
Simone Biles previously revealed to Olympics.com that gymnastics was all she initially focused on. But come recent times, her life out of the mats has made her realize that the sport isn’t all. Embracing the truth head on, the Olympian recently made her stance on about not contesting in Paris 2024.

Simone Biles’ thoughts on Olympics participation – to be or not to be?
Ever since Simone Biles went on a 2-year hiatus to focus on mental health, fans have awaited the gymnast’s return to the mats. Biles ensured to deliver well as she conquered the stages of Antwerp during the 2023 Worlds. However, today as spectators await to see Simone in the Paris 2024 stages, the speculations may seem to suggest otherwise, backed by Biles’ remark during a Vanity Fair interview.

“If I don’t make it to Paris, it won’t absolutely crush me,” Simone told Vanity Fair. When the interviewer asked if nothing was definitive, the gymnast asserted affirmative. Moreover, the path currently seems to have been one unthought of for Biles because the Tokyo Olympics seemed to have projected something different. “I didn’t think after Tokyo Olympics, I would actually be competing again,” Biles told in an interview with Peacock recently.
But she quickly moved on to say that a renaissance has nonetheless been a blessing. Though the answers remain contradicting, Biles hasn’t yet refrained from her regular practices.

What do the gymnast’s previous answers read like?
Simone in the past month took to her Instagram to share a glimpse into her practice session. The Olympian posted a series of 8 clips that showcased her performing various stunts. The update seemingly backed Biles’ statement on Peacock saying that Paris 2024 was ‘the end goal’. “I will be there regardless of if I’m on the floor or if I’m in the stands,” she stated. She further added that she just does her gymnastics, and it is the committee that decides the team. Nonetheless, she hopes to be on the floor.
