Happy 29th Birthday, Jonathan Owens!

While Simone Biles is currently knee-deep in the Olympic Village in France, preparing for the Games, her better half’s special day hasn’t gone unnoticed. As of 5:31 p.m., Biles hasn’t yet taken to social media to wish Jonathan a happy birthday, but her look-alike younger sister, Adria Biles, has stepped up to the plate. On June 22nd, Adria, Simone Biles’s younger sister, shared an Instagram story featuring a lovely photo of herself and Jonathan, both sporting matching black T-shirts with “Team Biles” emblazoned across them.

The duo was clearly enjoying watching some championship event together of Simone Biles. But the spotlight was taken by Adria’s caption, which reads, “Happy birthday, BIL. Thanks for taking care of my sister and thanks for always looking out for me,” shows that Owens is a true gem in both Simone’s and Adria’s eyes. But also emphasizes Adria’s genuine care for Simone.

Simone Biles and Adria Biles, share a bond that’s as close-knit as it gets. Growing up in the shadow of Biles, Adria followed in Simone’s footsteps. Even though he spent a decade as an elite gymnast and competing through high school.

Their deep connection shone brightly on Simone’s birthday, March 14th, when Adria’s heartfelt tribute revealed her admiration. “My sister has always been fearless,” Adria wrote. “When we were little kids, we’d stand on a railing on the second floor and jump onto the couch below. She’d go first, and I’d follow. Nothing scared her.” However, for the first time since their relationship started, Biles has skipped sharing a birthday post on social media.

Well, on Simone Biles’s birthday this year, Jonathan Owens wished her by posting photos of their intimate beach moments. “Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul, my amazing wife,” Owens wrote. “It’s incredible how life can bring you the perfect partner, like finding a needle in a haystack. He added, “You’re my heart, my rock, and my best friend all in one. I love you so much, baby. This year is set to be a game-changer, and I’m excited to support you every step of the way.” Interestingly, even during the last Olympics, despite struggling with twisties, she still made sure to wish Owens a happy birthday.

During the Tokyo Olympics, despite being miles apart as Owens had other work commitments, Simone Biles took to social media to celebrate Jonathan Owens’ birthday. “Here in Japan it is already my favorite person’s birthday 🖤 HAPPY 26th BIRTHDAY BABE. @jowens_3 I love you so much. Can’t wait to celebrate you when I get home!” She continued, “Thanks for keeping me sane during the craziest times. an ear to vent too, someone to share fun times with and make the best of memories 🖤 not sure how I got so lucky & what I’d do without you! But I hope you have the best day ever. Not too much fun without me tho hahaha 🥺🤞🏾🤍 forever yours, S.”

Now that Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens are both mature and married, Biles would certainly have wished Owens a happy birthday, even if she chose not to share it on social media. Well, we all know Biles has always been family-oriented, a trait that’s been evident since she was just three years old.

How did adversity shape Simone Biles and her sister?

Simone Biles and her sister Adria, though close in age just 2 years difference, have always shared a special bond, forged in the fires of adversity. After being placed in foster care at just three years old due to their biological mother Sharon’s struggles with addiction. Since then,  Simone has a on a motherly role towards Adria. Their journey through the foster care system was a tough row to hoe, marked by uncertainty and upheaval.

As Simone once said, “I don’t remember a lot about foster care, but I definitely knew that we had been taken from our biological mom and then you just think you’re going to go back to her.”  Their luck turned around when their grandparents, Ronald and Nellie Biles, stepped in and adopted them after three years of turbulence. Simone sees Ronald and Nellie as her true parents, grateful for the haven they provided.

In this close-knit family, Adria has also found a steadfast ally in Owens, who treats her like a younger sister and stands as Biles’ biggest cheerleader, always ready to go above and beyond for her.
