For every human, a sense of belonging is something that assures them of their place in the world. With that in mind, the USA’s African-American community organizes Black History Month every year to help each other find solace with camaraderie. For Olympic medalist Jordan Chiles, it’s an important task to spread the message of love and bonding, and Black History Month, celebrated in February, is the perfect way to do so.

The 2022 World Champion gymnastics gold medalist Chiles is considered one of the country’s top athletes who has brought glory to her nation countless times on international stages. And now, the UCLA Bruins star once again made sure her community knows what makes her heart beat.

In her recent Instagram post, Chiles took a moment to share how she spent Black History Month this year. The Black Student Union recently invited Jordan to talk to her fellow community members and motivate them to become contributing members of the African-American legions of the country. Despite having a busy schedule with the Paris Olympics around the corner, Chiles executed her responsibility in a commendable fashion. “Thank you @evergreen__bsu for inviting me to speak at your Black History Month assembly!!”, wrote the three-time Pan Am Games medalist in her post.

However, this wasn’t the only time that the world saw Jordan making her stand clear.

Chiles stands for her community with a monumental climb ahead

Only days ago, Chiles mentioned how the US has been making pivotal shifts toward becoming a more inclusive nation. In an interview for the USA Gymnastics podcast, Chils mentioned that the country is “understanding more“, and said that this change in the mindset is helping young black Americans to embrace their identities.

Earlier this month, Chiles was also observed being flummoxed at the thought of her being an idol to the newer generations, while mentioning how the “trickle effect” helps her to stay motivated to give her best every day. Understandably, Chiles will get ample chances to inspire the budding stars in the coming days.
