The 30-city tour, which started on September 16th, has traveled almost all around the US, organizing incredible shows that have been well-liked by the public. But the show on October 19th held a larger significance as it was held in Houston, Simone Biles’ hometown. This was her first appearance there after her Paris Olympics triumph, and it was all set to be special. Thus, the show was also attended by her husband, NFL star, Jonathan Owens.
Now, after the Houston show turned out to be successful, Simone Biles uploaded a bunch of pictures on October 24th in an Instagram post alongside her spouse. She wrote, “Bye week—Bae comes on tour.” This post was significant, as Simone and Jonathan had barely spent time with each other because of each other’s busy schedules after Paris.
While Simone has been on the Gold Over America tour, Jonathan’s NFL season has started, limiting his opportunities for a break. Thus, coming to Houston was a great gesture for him. Simone’s post elicited a response from one of her tour teammates, who heaped praise on the couple. Yul Moldauer, the gymnast who was part of the Tokyo Olympics team, wrote, “The GOATS.”It didn’t come as a surprise that the gymnast praised them, as he seemed to admire them both after spending a considerable amount of time with them. While he obviously knew Simone before, this seemed to be the first time he had spent time with Jonathan.

Yul, alongside other male gymnasts, hung out with the NFL star during his time in Houston. Both he and Paul Juda played football with Jonathan Owens. The Chicago Bears football safety threw the ball as both the gymnasts rushed to get a hold of it, like NFL quarterbacks. Uploading the clip of this incident, Simone Biles wrote, “The boys warming up.” Yul Moldauer posted the same story on his account and joked, “I got smoked.”
Thus, while Jonathan did show up mainly for his wife, he mingled around with her teammates too, which made them start liking him. But football was not the only thing he participated in at Houston. In fact, Jonathan showed off a bit in gymnastics too, prompting Simone to suggest that they should recruit him for the tour.
Simone Biles’ husband Jonathan Owens tries his hand at gymnastics
During the Paris Olympics, Jonathan Owens was in the stands for every single competition Simone Biles participated in. He was often spotted there with a diary, keeping track of her game. This was a tradition started by the gymnast’s parents during competitions, which has been carried on by her husband. Now, it seems that this may have ignited a lot of interest for the sport on his part.
During the rehearsals of the Houston show, the NFL star was seen attempting a stunt in the parallel bars. This made Simone humorously suggest that he should be part of the tour. “Should we get him to the cast?” she said on her Instagram story. Jonathan replied to this by saying, “With the toe point 😂.” Thus, it seems that he has never been this interested in gymnastics before. But observing a freak of nature like Simone Biles perform extraordinarily every time she steps on a mat has inspired not only Jonathan but also numerous other gymnastics fans.

Though he’s unlikely to attempt another gymnastics routine anytime soon due to his NFL commitments, you can bet he’ll be front and center cheering Simone on at nearly every meet. His standing with the gymnastics community has already rebounded after a rocky start, but showing up to support her could make him a total fan favorite.
