Simone Biles is fresh off a historic performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics, where she added four more medals to her ever-growing collection of Olympic medals. With a total of 11 Olympic medals, Biles has cemented her status not just as a global gymnastics icon but as the undisputed G.O.A.T. However, she isn’t slowing down. Instead, she’s preparing for a new stage: the highly anticipated 2024 Gold Over America Tour (GOAT), which kicks off in Oceanside, California, on September 16th. And Simone is more excited than ever!
Just a day before the showdown begins, Simone Biles was caught in a candid conversation with Steve Luke of NBC San Diego, and the 27-year-old reflected on how the Gold Over America Tour is going to be indeed different and special. This highly anticipated tour will feature an electrifying fusion of gymnastics and pop concert vibes, promising to “wow” fans across the United States. Biles, along with her star-studded cast of Olympic teammates, is set to bring high-energy performances to 30 cities from mid-September to early November.
When Biles was asked how the tour would be different from an athletic meet or competition, she immediately responded, “I feel like this is the Olympic Celebration Tour, and this is exactly why we do it. We want to give these gymnasts an opportunity to tell their stories personally, because some of us don’t have those platforms, but all other than that, it’s just so much fun. It’s kind of like a pop-style concert with some of the best gymnasts in the world…I think the crowd will love this”. She also reflected that, unlike the competitive arena of the Olympics, the Gold Over America Tour (GOAT) isn’t about medals or scores. Instead, it’s a platform for gymnasts to tell their stories, connect with audiences, and have a blast while doing it.

Simone Biles is indeed all geared up to inspire the next generation of athletes on this unique victory lap. With a tone full of excitement, the gymnastics queen stated, “It’s something that’s never been done before like this. We did it after 2021, but I think this year’s show is going to be way, way better, and so I just can’t wait for everyone to see it.” Moreover, she also referred to how the Gold Tour is often referred to as the GOAT tour. Commenting on the thought behind the naming of the tour, Biles said, “It’s not about winning medals. It’s really about each and every one of us have a story to tell, and each and every one of us have a piece of gold inside of us.”
The 2024 edition of GOAT promises to be bigger and better than ever! Teasing on how they have been rehearsing and preparing for the new stage Biles revealed that they are doing it all in just 15 days. “For an Olympic Games, you’re training those four years. For this, we’ve had about two weeks of rehearsals, coming in, learning the numbers, the dances, putting everything together on each apparatus to make it look cohesive, seamless, and just beautiful, and really just do what we do best is flip around and be artistic”, shared the GOAT of artistic gymnastics. From the excitement in Biles’ voice, it’s clear that the tour offers a much-needed break for the athletes from the rigorous Olympic grind. Rather than the typical four years of intense preparation, Biles and her fellow gymnasts have had just weeks to perfect their performances. And now, they’re ready to hit the stage with renewed energy!
