The gymnastic wunderkind Simone Biles has been inundated and bursting at the seams with laurels, accolades and coins. But her wins go beyond gymnastics. Being overshadowed by bigger names and male athletes ignited a fire inside her, which led to some iconic team ups. Having said that, the 26-year-old paved way for the women to celebrate themselves through unique leotards.

In 2015, Elite and Simone Biles first crossed paths, but their relationship solidified in 2021. On a mission to skyrocket sport’s name, the brand launched their first-ever athlete-designed competitive leotards, the Simone Biles Legacy. Fast forward to 2023, the power duo has partook in another journey of giving back to the community.

Having spent some of her childhood years in foster care, the 26-year-old’s heart cries for the foster kids even now. In 2022, when Friends of the Children, an American non-profit organization, approached her, the Olympian decided to be the firebrand mental health advocate for the kids. But now, before the Paris Olympics, they have arrived with another initiative. Friends of the Children’s Instagram post reads, “Friends of the Children is excited to partner with World Champion gymnast and youth advocate @simonebiles to create exclusive items available for pre-order in advance of the 2024 Biles International Invitational!”

In the video, the 7x Olympic medalist says, We’ll be hosting a fundraiser for Friends of the Children. So this year, the leo will be an exclusive GK Friends of the Children Simone Biles leo.” In addition, she also said that the first 50 participants of the fundraiser will receive autographed leos by the Olympian herself. She also held up a leotard in the video to give an idea of the design.

After a successful event, the money raised would be used to bolster the organization and introduce newer horizons. But Biles’ sojourn with the organization dates back to a special month last year.

The Olympian hosted a virtual interactive Q&A and gymnastics stretching session for Friends of the Children. Several youngsters in need of a friend engaged in a fun conversation with the gymnast. Interestingly, it was the National Foster Care Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, so Biles connected with the event more.

Besides uplifting their moods with her own foster care journey tale, she also shed light on having a wonderful mentor. Said, “You just need that one person who believes in you and can uplift your spirit……………you have those mentors.”
