Simone Biles' resilience is unmatched—do you think she's the greatest gymnast of all time?

Simone Biles and resting have been antonyms for all of the 2024 season. After having a season with three Olympic Golds, Simone is already back in action. And she is not just simply back; she is winning hearts yet again on the Gold Over America Tour. The tour has, as of now, reached the vibrant city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The venue will be the Target Center. Unlike other stops on the tour, this city and venue is a celebration of the wins that came along this year. But why is Minneapolis special?

Biles took it to Instagram earlier today and shared a selfie of her in a hotel room. She captioned it, “Last night I stayed in the same hotel we stayed at when we competed at Olympic trials… walking in, I had so much deja vu—what good memories, bittersweet.” Yes, that’s right! The latest stop on the Gold Over America Tour has turned into a poignant reflection on how far she has come. Earlier this year, they held the 2024 Olympic trials in the same city and at the same venue.

And Minneapolis was, no doubt, a brilliant start! Rewind to the trial day. Simone Biles had a rocky start on the balance beam on the second day. Biles, however, hardly let it affect her. She went on to win the first-place title with a five-point lead over her closest competitor, Sunisa Lee. When the Olympics began, Biles went on to win a Gold in all-around, vault, and the team event. She then topped it all off with a Silver in Floor Exercise. The bittersweet feeling that Biles put up on social media is the culmination of a year that will forever be etched in the chronicles of gymnastics.

As the Gold Over America Tour continues in full stride across the nation, Biles’ post is a reminder that the tour is a celebration of all of their achievements, too. After the nostalgic city, the tour will head to Milwaukee on September 28 and then to Chicago on September 29. From there, it will continue to Newark, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Boston, Baltimore, and Charlotte. Each stop comes with a promise of being an unmissable spectacle. But amidst the hectic schedule, in true Simone Biles style, she has done something big!

The restaurant will open in early 2025 at the Houston Intercontinental Airport. “I am a foodie at heart,” Biles stated, and this new project promises to reflect that love for food. The project sure does look promising, with Mark Brezinski, a culinary innovator, joining Biles. “And our hope with Taste of Gold is to offer a beautiful dining experience that features award-winning, signature menu items with some of my favorite flavors sprinkled in for our guests,” Biles added.
